Beginning with appearance and finally experience, Durga K330w plus three-mode mechanical keyboard experience

There is a saying that if a worker wants to do a good job, he must first sharpen his tools. As a long-term codeword worker, it is natural to need a good keyboard to assist in order to have higher work efficiency. My usual office location is more changeable, which requires a keyboard with diverse connections and portability.

The mechanical keyboard I have been using before is Dujia's - typewriter red switch! There are no fancy functions, but the overall appearance is good, and the typing feel is very comfortable, but the "typewriter" itself is not light, and it is a full-size keyboard, which is not suitable for carrying around. In order to meet the needs of appearance, portability, feel and functionality, etc., I recently bought Durga's K330w Plus silver switch again. After experiencing it for a period of time, this article will talk about my experience.

1. Packaging and accessories

Durga’s K330w Plus silver switch uses double packaging, and the outer packaging box is mainly black, white, and silver in color, and it feels like an e-sports style at first glance. There is also a special reminder on the front of the box, HOT SWAPPABLE (hot swappable), which means that this keyboard can freely replace the shaft body and experience the joy of DIY.

After opening the box, the keyboard is insulated by a thick dust cover. (The dust cover is a classic accessory of Durga, and it is definitely just needed for people like me who are not particular about it.) Various parts are in their respective positions, waiting for the owner to open them.

Accessories include key puller, shaft puller, data cable, receiver docking station, wireless receiver, manual, magic cable tie. After reading the accessories, you can know that this is a three-mode mechanical keyboard that supports wired, Bluetooth and 2.4G.

Two, a look of disturbance

The one I chose is Ion Storm, which is easily associated with e-sports from the name. The colors of the ion storm are black, white, and blue. I don't know if you have a feeling that a storm is coming after watching it?

The entire keyboard is designed very compactly, with a total of 61 keys, only about 60% of the full-size keyboard, and a weight of 596 grams. Such a small and exquisite keyboard feels more like a work of art.

Duga's K330w Plus uses the original height PBT two-color keycap, which has a slight frosted feel, delicate touch, and is not easy to slip. The two-color closed-mouth molding process ensures long-term use without worrying about the characters fading.

Viewed from the side, the keyboard uses a lot of irregular lines, and the keyboard is divided into areas, which is very design and layered.

There are various indicators in the upper left corner, and the groove in the lower right corner is the LOGO of Durga, which also adds embellishment to the design of this keyboard.

Here we also need to mention the very nice interface design, which Dujia handled very cleverly and covertly. The upper left corner is a Type-c interface, and the upper right corner is a power switch. When turned on, it will display a color similar to the product theme, and the keyboard switch is clear at a glance. Next to the foot support on the back is a hidden design USB receiver,

There are four non-slip feet on the back of the keyboard, two-stage feet. When I use it normally, I like to fully open the foot support, which is more comfortable and stable.

Three, solid workmanship

The entire series of Durga’s K330w Plus shafts are crystal axes customized by Jiadalong, which belong to Jiadalong’s CAP axis, and have been optimized. Dujia itself has been deeply tuned. The currently available switches include red switches, brown switches, silver switches and silent red switches. The picture below shows the characteristics of the four switches. Considering my personal needs, I type a lot, and sometimes I like to play games, so the silver switch is the best choice.

The shaft body uses a translucent upper cover, and the satellite shaft part has been lubricated before leaving the factory, which is more smooth during use.

Having said so much, the new feature of Dujia's K330w Plus is the pluggable shaft body. The keyboard itself comes with a shaft puller, and the shaft body can be removed with a little force. We can replace different shafts on special keys to meet the needs of different usage scenarios, greatly increasing the playability of customized keyboards.

I also disassembled this keyboard, and after unscrewing a few fixed screws, the motherboard can be taken out. There is a layer of silicone pad between the metal positioning plate and the PCB board, which acts as a shock absorber.

There is a sheet of soundproof cotton at the bottom of the keyboard. Mechanical keyboards have a lot of noise, and the double blessing of silicone pads and sound-proof cotton makes the shock absorption and noise control of the K330w Plus quite good.

4. Excellent experience

Because it has 61 keys, K330w Plus is also minimalist in function. While cutting off the number keys on the right, even the arrow keys and F1-F12 function keys are also omitted. However, these functions are not omitted, but become compound keys, which can also be realized through function conversion.

Thanks to the three-mode design, K330w Plus can switch back and forth between desktops, notebooks, tablets, and even mobile phones. One keyboard can adapt to multiple devices at the same time, which is exactly what I need for mobile office.

In terms of feel, the noise of the silver switch is relatively much smaller, and because the key travel is relatively short, its sense of paragraph is not obvious. It can be triggered without pressing all the keys when typing. Compared with other switches, this is also the silver switch, which is suitable for typing as well as gaming.

Finally, in order to achieve more powerful functions, Durga's exclusive Zeus driver is also essential. This driver can realize functions such as one-key macro, and at the same time, you can see the current state of the keyboard, such as the battery. When it comes to power, you have to plug in the battery last, because it is designed for charging, and it can be used for 8 hours a day when it is fully charged. Bluetooth can be used for about 240 days, and 2.4G can be used for about 180 days. If it is not used so frequently, it is estimated that it can be used for a year on a single charge.

V. Summary

After this period of experience, Durga K330w Plus is completely satisfied with my daily use in various scenarios. The color scheme of Ion Storm caught my eye. The hot-swappable design greatly increases the playability. Three-mode connection, 61-key minimalist design ensures its portability and functionality. In addition, the large amount of filling inside, coupled with Durga's high-quality workmanship and excellent color adjustment, also makes it well received among products at the same price.
