Cheaper and better looking - Dareu A87 Pro single model

It has been a while since it was released today, and recently the official launch of a slightly modified version of a keyboard: Dareu A87 Pro single template.

As the product name says, this keyboard is a slightly modified version of Dareu A87 Pro.

Changing the connection mode of the original A87 Pro from a three-mode connection to a single-mode connection, the price is 100 yuan cheaper than the three-mode version, which is a change that reduces both volume and price.

In addition to changing the connection method from single-mode to triple-mode, there are actually some other small changes to this keyboard, let's take a look together.

In addition to the connection method, the biggest change to the entire keyboard is the color matching of the keycaps.

The A87 Pro has two colors of sky and black gold, corresponding to the blue and white theme and the black and orange theme.

The previous color scheme is not difficult to see where to go, but it feels a little weird. For example, the sky color scheme in the picture below, I still don’t like the blue top cover.

This new color scheme is called "Twilight Cloud Grey". The color matching is white, gray blue, and red. The color matching design of these three colors actually looks a bit like a salmon color, and the top cover has also become white.

My acceptance of this look is much higher than the previous two colors, I don't know what you think.

The three-stage switch on the left used to switch the connection mode, but now the single-mode switch has been changed to a light switch.

It is still a three-stage design, from top to bottom are constant light mode, breathing mode, and light off.

The 2.4G receiver storage slot on the right is sealed.

The keycap is made of PBT two-color injection molding process. The workmanship is very good among products of the same price. There is no burr at the bottom but there will be a small spout. The surface of the keycaps has a fine matte finish, which provides excellent control over finger oil.

The RGB backlight effect is slightly better than that of keyboards with PBT material keycaps at the same price.

All the keycaps of the A87 Pro will be slightly sunken, which makes the gap above the keycaps larger, and cooperates with the PCB on the upper light position to obtain better lighting effects.

The shaft body is the same as the three-mode version, which is still the sky shaft V3, with a service life of 80 million, and the spring is upgraded to a gold-plated spring, which feels very smooth.

This time, the entire A87 Pro series adopts the fence Gas structure, and the percussion feels very soft and elastic, with a feeling of flicking a rubber band.

However, the sound performance needs to be adjusted this time. The backspace key and the right shift key of mine will have a little spring sound, and the quality control of the large sky key switch needs to be strengthened.

The second small change in the single template this time is the use of partition axes.

The small key of the A87 Pro single model uses the sky switch V3, and the big key is the blue core sky switch, also known as the sky big key switch. The trigger pressure of the two shafts is different, and the feel will be slightly different.

The front section of the small key will be softer than the large key, which is easier to trigger. The big keys are tighter, and they rebound strongly when they hit the bottom.

The A104 pure white color that I drove some time ago also adopted such a partitioned shaft design. At that time, I complained that Dareu did not publicize the design, and I also fed back this matter to Dareu. If you do it but don't say it, it is tantamount to doing it for nothing.

Now you look at the product details page of the A87 Pro single template. In the middle part, Dareu has added a small page to describe the partition axis.

They will really change your suggestion, give such a serious manufacturer a thumbs up.

However, there is still room for optimization of the big sky key switch this time.

The big sky key on the space and shift is perfect, and the feel is basically consistent with the small key. However, the feel of large keys such as carriage return and backspace is softer and more fleshy than small keys, and there is a little noise during the tapping process.

Similar problems have also appeared on the A104. These two models should be the first batch of products equipped with sky key switches. I hope that they can be optimized in the future.

In addition to the large key shaft body that needs to be optimized, the multimedia keys of this keyboard really make me collapse.

The key position setting on the Fn function key of the A87 Pro single model is extremely unreasonable.

F1-F5 are custom lighting, you can set the lighting effect of the keyboard to these five keys, and F6-F11 are six onboard lighting mode switches.

However, the most commonly used daily song cutting and volume adjustment are placed on 1-6 in the digital area. Not to mention how counter-intuitive this design is.

Originally, the volume control design of the A87 Pro three-mode version is very good. Fn+F12 increases the volume, Fn+F11 decreases the volume, and Fn+F10 mutes the volume, so that only one-handed operation can control the addition and subtraction of the volume.

I think high-frequency shortcut keys like adjusting the volume should be designed to be operated with one hand. I think Dareu's designers know this.

I don't understand why it is necessary to change the good layout to such a hard-to-use look in the single-mode version.

Finally, looking at the disassembly, the overall workmanship of the keyboard is very good among products at the same price.

The keyboard features a fenced silicone gas structure that extends from the sides of the sandwich pad all the way to the bezel.

Because the silicone pad is 4mm thick, in order to fix the PCB and the front and back of the positioning board, four screws are clamped through the screw post in the middle of the silicone pad.

The positioning board is made of translucent PC material, and a large number of slots are made in the middle, which allows the entire positioning board to produce greater deformation, the keyboard feels softer and the lighting effect is better.

The keyboard shaft mount is from Kaihua.

The main controller was scratched, and it was identified as Hetai's HT32F50343 through the manufacturer's logo and numbers.

32-bit low-power microcontroller, Arm M0+ core, 60Mhz frequency, 64KB ROM, 12KB SRAM.

Because it is a single model, there is no wireless module and battery inside the keyboard.

Below the PCB is a custom purple silicone pad with patterns and Dareu's serial number printed on it.

Under the bottom pad is the bottom shell without a positioning column. The surface treatment process of the inside and outside is the same, and the workmanship is very good.

Below the central cover of the bottom case is the battery compartment, and you can see the holes reserved for the battery.

Is the single-mode version of A87 Pro worth buying?

This is a difficult answer. As a keyboard in the early 400s, I think the performance of the A87 Pro single-mode version is still passable this time.

The shell workmanship of the keyboard, the quality of the switch body, and the materials used in all aspects, including the feel, are all in place among products at the same price. And this time the single-template version has some nice little changes compared to the three-template version, and the appearance has become better.

It is its shortcut key design that really makes me unable to understand, and the sound of some large key switches still needs to be optimized.

The single-mode version is 100 yuan cheaper than the three-mode version, maybe this is the part that has to be sacrificed for the price.
