Count the differences among family members and teach you how to choose CORSAIR K70 series keyboards

A few days ago, a friend asked me: "I want to buy a CORSAIR K70 keyboard, but I searched and found that there are so many different models of K70! And the price difference is quite large. Do you know what those models have? Is there a difference?" "emmmm~~~ This question is a long story." Then I introduced the K70 family, the general positioning of the various products of the K70 series, and different models in a simple way from several angles that my friend cares about. The main difference, and finally let the friend determine the final model to start with. Afterwards, I think it is necessary to simply write a sharing post to do a simple science popularization for more friends who don't know.

First of all, "K70" is not the model of a certain keyboard, but the series name of a series of keyboards under CORSAIR. The name of American pirate ship's keyboard products all start with the letter "K", which is not difficult to guess is the first letter of "Keyboard". The number after the "K" letter represents the positioning of CORSAIR for this series, and the larger the number, the higher the positioning. Among the keyboard products currently sold by CORSAIR, only the K95 and K100 have larger numbers than the K70, which also means that the K70 series is positioned as a sub-flagship.

Since the launch of the K70 series, there have been many upgrades and iterations. Currently, the following models are mainly on sale: K70 RGB MK.2, K70 RGB PRO, K70 RGB TKL/K70 RGB TKL OPX, and K70 PRO MINI WIRELESS .

K70 RGB MK.2, this keyboard should be the official second-generation product of the K70 series, and it should have been on the market for about four years. In the years when the K95 and K100 were not launched, it was firmly the number one flagship of CORSAIR, and it was also the target keyboard of many players at that time. All the keyboards currently on sale are equipped with Cherry switches. There are two iconic features, one is the dual USB plug data cable, which comes with a USB expansion interface; the second is that the length of the bottom row of keys is non-standard. However, in the past 30 years and 30 years in Hexi, the K70 RGB MK.2 has become a relatively cost-effective model in the K70 family at this stage.

K70 RGB PRO, this keyboard almost directly inherits the classic appearance of the previous generation K70 RGB MK.2. Like the K70 RGB MK.2, it is a fully equipped keyboard that is suitable for most people's usage habits. The biggest upgrade point of this keyboard is the use of CORSAIR AXON super-speed processing technology, which can achieve a polling rate of up to 8000Hz.

The appearance changes of K70 RGB PRO compared to the MK.2 version are roughly as follows: 1. Some adjustments have been made to the multimedia area on the forehead; 2. The bottom row of keys has been changed to a standard length for easy replacement of keycaps; 3. Upgraded to a separate design of keys and wires, and canceled the USB expansion function; 4. Added a competitive switch, which will disable all macro functions after it is turned on.

K70 RGB TKL/K70 RGB TKL OPX (optical axis version): The overall performance and hardware parameters of this keyboard are similar to those of K70 RGB PRO. The version suffixed with OPX is equipped with CORSAIR’s own OPX optical axis. This keyboard is classified as a "Champion Series" peripheral by American Corsair, and it is positioned as a gaming e-sports keyboard. The 87-key keyboard shortens the overall length of the keyboard, which can reserve more sliding space for the mouse on the right. In particular, the OPX optical axis with 1mm key travel, combined with the 8000Hz polling rate, can make you move faster in the game.

In fact, K70 RGB TKL/ K70 RGB TKL OPX (optical axis version) is the first keyboard model of CORSAIR to use the "competition switch". According to the time of listing, this keyboard is earlier than the aforementioned K70 RGB PRO. It can be simply understood as the 87-key version of the K70 RGB PRO without the palm rest.

K70 PRO MINI WIRELESS, this is a portable 60% wireless small three-mode mechanical keyboard, which supports SLIPSTREAM wireless fast connection with a delay as low as 1ms, low-latency Bluetooth, or USB wired connection. With CORSAIR AXON super-speed processing technology, it also supports 8000Hz super polling rate.

The 360-degree surrounding light strip composed of 28 LED lamp beads makes the appearance design of this keyboard significantly different from other brother products.

Another biggest feature is that it is CORSAIR's first mechanical keyboard that supports hot-swapping. It supports the common three-pin MX-type switch body, which also makes this keyboard have extremely high customization properties. This keyboard can be said to be the most different from other models of the K70 family, and it is also the model that is the least tangled in selection.

Finally, a brief summary. If you are pursuing high cost performance, choose K70 RGB MK.2, which is enough to meet the needs of most people; if you pursue the ultimate high performance, you can consider choosing K70 RGB PRO; for hardcore gamers, you can choose K70 RGB TKL. For geek players who like customization and portability, K70 PRO MINI WIRELESS is the right choice.
