Digital Evaluation Part 3: Beginning with good looks, good typing experience, Fuling CMK68 mechanical keyboard experience

The sudden popularity of small-sized mechanical keyboards has spawned a large number of attractive and individual products. The introduction of different layouts provides more choices for ordinary consumers. Recently, we were lucky enough to get the Fuling CMK68 three-mode wireless mechanical keyboard. Let’s briefly summarize the advantages of the product: 1. Metal configuration, solid feel; 2. Support hot-swappable, easy for DIY; 3. Ladder keycap, comfortable experience. Many people call it the ceiling work of the mechanical keyboard, so let us find out what the actual experience is like today.

I don’t know what is the first feeling of many users when they get the Fuling CMK68 for the first time. Personally speaking, the blue, white and red color matching is very close to the red and white machine game controllers in the early years, full of memories. If you have a better understanding of the Fuling CMK series, you will find that the appearance design of the Fuling CMK68 is exactly the same as that of the previous Fuling CMK98. The non-compact design uses Tianzi 68 columns + independent direction keys, which can well avoid small-sized keyboards. It is easy to cause embarrassment by mistake.

The size of the keyboard is 347×123.6×41.6mm. It is equipped with three types of switches: MX-Ice Mint switch, jellyfish paragraph switch, and deep-sea mute switch. The one we have is MX-Ice Mint switch. Details will be given later. The Ins, Del, Pgup, and Pgdn buttons on the right side of Fuling CMK68 form a separate area, and the arrow keys form a separate area, and the independent indicator light area is canceled on the right side.

The top of Fuling CMK68 is a standard metal counterweight, and the embedded contrasting color design makes it better match the overall style. On the side of the counterweight, there are three-speed toggle switches and a Type-C interface, as well as a logo. It is not difficult to see that Fuling CMK68 supports three connection modes: wired, 2.4G, and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, this mechanical keyboard does not come with an additional receiver compartment.

The back of Fuling CMK68 is also equipped with a metal counterweight, and there is a large-size non-slip foot pad on each side. With a wrapped support frame and a slightly heavier body, the overall anti-slip effect is quite good.

On the back side of Fuling CMK68, there is also an adjustable MAC and WIN system adjustment switch, and users can switch freely according to the synchronization of the connected devices.

The support frame is consistent with most mechanical keyboards on the market. They all adopt a two-stage structure, and the top of the support frame is treated with anti-slip treatment. What I want to emphasize here is that the Fuling CMK68 is made of solid workmanship on the support frame, and there is no looseness in the process of toggling.

Because Fuling CMK68 has a stepped design, the keyboard itself will have some upward inclinations. For users who are used to opening the back support frame, they can choose as appropriate. Personally, it is just right when it is not opened.

For the shaft part, the Fuling CMK68 we got this time uses the MX-Ice Mint shaft exclusively tuned by Fuling. As a linear switch body, the trigger force of the MX-Ice Mint switch is 40g, the trigger stroke is 1.8mm, and the total stroke is 4.0mm. The overall percussion feel is very fleshy, which is also a common feature of traditional thread shafts: long key travel and small pressure grams.

Fuling CMK68 adopts a double noise reduction structure inside. Under the premise of high keyboard and high keycap, the overall pressing cavity sound is very small, which is an extra surprise. In addition, this keyboard supports full-key hot-swapping, and users who like tossing can freely replace the mainstream three-legged and five-legged axes on the market.

The keycap part of Fuling CMK68 adopts well-made FSA ball cap, PBT material, and two-color injection molding process. The surface of the keycap is frosted, which is very good in terms of touch and wear resistance. Since the FSA keycap is a very high keycap, the center of the keycap is concave, so it is quite comfortable to use for typing.

Fuling CMK68 supports 16.8 million colors of RGB lighting, coupled with high keycaps and double-layer shock-absorbing silicone pads, the light is even and soft, and there is no light leakage. Students who have a special interest in lighting can also adjust it freely by downloading the corresponding driver program, so I won’t go into details here.

As for the hand feel, in general, Fuling CMK68 performs well. The fine-tuned satellite axis and dual ISSP noise reduction design make every tap very crisp. The round and pure key sound is perfect for everyone who is used to using the keyboard as a creative tool. It is a pleasure for all users. However, if it is used for playing games, it is recommended to equip an additional palm rest or choose an OEM keycap keyboard. Because of the factors of seat height and key height, if you try to play games, you will find that your wrist will be more tired.

Fuling CMK68 has given users a great sense of satisfaction in terms of appearance design, quality workmanship, and operating experience, ensuring that every trigger during the typing process can be hearty. Although many users who have experienced it complain that there is no additional storage compartment for the receiver, it is a little regrettable. But it is undeniable that Fuling CMK68 is still a powerful mechanical keyboard that is worth buying, with high appearance, high configuration and high experience.
