Compared with the advanced customization that burns money, I prefer to match the keyboard with good-looking keycaps, which can solve the problem of visual fatigue without changing the keyboard. After unpacking the package, there is no expected paper box, but it is directly in the form of an ABS storage box. The lanyard is easy to carry. There are four buckles on the front and left and right, and the seal is still very tight.

The inside is filled with thick wavy shock-proof sponge, which is perfect for storing these small items. The entire box body, including the keycap body, does not have the LOGO of "Beidou Zuo", which feels like a MUJI product.

Needless to say, the benefits of titanium alloy are its high strength, low density, biophilicity, and corrosion resistance. Therefore, it is widely used in aerospace and medical equipment and other fields, especially in the EDC industry. As an expert in titanium products, Beidou has always been striving for excellence in workmanship and quality, especially this keyboard cap. It uses TC4 titanium alloy as its material, the keycap is square, and its length and width are both 18mm. The weight of 4.69 grams is more substantial than conventional PBT or ABS keycaps.

I happen to have a lot of keyboards at hand, so let’s make a comparison: the height of the original R4 (9.3mm), compared with the keycaps of different brands of keyboards next to it, it seems to be a little smaller in width and height. However, in terms of texture, the keycaps made by Beidou are naturally a complete victory. The surface is brushed, the edge is CNC finely polished, and the contact surface fits the curved concave surface of the finger, so that it has a satisfactory quality performance in terms of appearance and feel.

This keycap made by Beidou can be adapted to most mechanical keyboards with MX switches (cross-shaped switches), such as green switches and black switches. But it is naturally unusable for the more common membrane keyboards and notebook keyboards. For beginners who are new to the keyboard, they must understand.

Appreciation of details: the side is also very smooth. Because it is a titanium alloy shell, there is no need to worry about oiling or character wear on ordinary keycaps after a long time (that is, the performance of the keycaps will become shiny). As mentioned earlier, the keycap made by Beidou is R4 height. Since some friends don’t know much about it, here is a brief introduction: Generally speaking, the keyboard has six rows, and the height of each row of keys is also different. In each line from top to bottom, the line starting with ESC and the number keys on the down line are called R4 height, while the QWE line is R3 height, ASD is R2 height, and the last two lines ZXC and space bar are R1 height. That is to say, the keycaps made by Beidou are suitable for ESC, F1-F12 area and digital multi-function keypad.

Turn the other side to see the inside of the keycap. Although the cross opening slot in the middle is made of metal, the surface is also fine and smooth. When plugging and unplugging, the elastic feeling is moderate, which is the same as that of ordinary keycaps, and will not damage the shaft. body. I tried it with a key puller, and it was easier to pull out after plugging it in.

Let’s show some more keyboards with Beidou keycaps installed. The first is the ESC key, which is also the most frequently replaced key. I happen to have a commemorative metal keycap (made of aluminum alloy) at hand, so let’s make a comparison:

Although the color scheme of the former is more beautiful, in terms of texture, Beidou is thicker and more refined, and the feel is not at the same level. The keycaps made by Beidou are smoother and more delicate, and they are smoother and more natural when struck.

For friends who often play games, the four keys of ASDW are naturally indispensable. If you directly buy four titanium alloy keycaps like me, they can just be used as game keycaps. Needless to say, it is durable and highly recognizable (of course you can also put it in the cursor area).

When placed on R2 and R3, compared with the surrounding keycaps, the height is slightly higher than that of the surrounding keycaps, but it does not affect the hand speed. Because its surface is not treated with light transmission for characters, there is no light transmission for RGB keyboards. But it can also be distinguished.

My keyboard has a red switch. After replacing the keycaps of Beidou, the typing feel is good, clean and neat, without soft and loose lag. In addition, the sound feels more crisp than the previous keycaps.
