Exclusive review of cost-effective products Part 2: Is the half-price cheap donkey RS2 worth buying? Beijing-made JZ990 single-module disassembly evaluation

A few days ago, I saw news on the website that the single template of Jingzao JZ990 is priced at 199 yuan. Friends who are familiar with mechanical keyboards should all know that the foundation of this keyboard is the well-received cheap donkey RS2, and the daily price is 399 yuan. The price of this single-mode version is only 199 yuan, and the shell and structure are the same, so what is the difference between this half-price keyboard and the standard three-mode version JZ990, which is the cheap ass RS2? So I bought one, and I will share my experience with you.

List a table, should be able to more clearly see the similarities and differences between the two.

To put it simply, the exposed parts are almost the same, except that the volume knob part of the rs2 will have a metal texture ring, while the single-mode 990 is a rhubarb, and the rest are basically the same in appearance. Then the interior is almost different except for the PCB.

The shaft part will be mentioned later, and the disassembly of the filling part will be mentioned later. It is clear that hot-swapping and three-mode are not supported. At the beginning of the cheap donkey rs2, the positioning board was made of PC material, and now it seems that it has been fully upgraded to a gold-plated Fr-4 glass fiber positioning board, so JZ990 has also become the cheapest glass fiber positioning board. The keyboard is produced, but the surface is not paved with gold.

Before dismantling, let me say that like all keychron and cheap donkey keyboards, the front height of rs2 is very high. The purpose of this is that there is enough space inside to arrange the structure. At the same time, because the lines are relatively simple, it will look more obvious. The solution is to add a hand rest or open the foot support to the second stage. I just use the foot support and I don’t feel any discomfort.

In addition, the 2.4G receiver storage compartment at the bottom is even left.

In terms of internal structure, it looks like this when disassembled. The bottom shell is densely covered with reinforcing ribs. The rs2 also has no backing cotton, and the single-mode JZ990 naturally does not have it.

The solder joints are handled well, and it should be done by machines. Suddenly, I remembered the keyboard evaluation in the early days. There is nothing to say.

There is also a special chip at the U port, and there is actually a Chinese label: KB603-2 wired switch.

Nine such PE foam strips are placed on the upper and lower covers to form a cushioning structure. The foam strips at the bottom are easy to fall out after being removed. The hardness of the foam is low and it feels too soft.

The fiberglass version is not covered with gold, and the sandwich cotton and under-shaft pads for noise reduction are also directly omitted. But it can be noticed that the distance between the lower PCB and the positioning board is very small.

The standard switch of this keyboard is the Moon Shadow Yellow Switch. Note that some of the keychron series keyboards made in Beijing also have Phantom Yellow Switches, which are basically at the level of Jiadalong G Yellow Pro, and this Moon Shadow Huang is another type of shaft. The two have similar names but different qualities. Don't confuse them.

The lowest price of Xianyu’s Yueyinghuang dismantling shaft last year was 30 yuan and 80 pieces, so it’s probably more than 4 cents. But in fact, I think more than 4 cents is still a little bit expensive. First of all, let’s talk about the advantages. The smoothness of this switch is good. Indeed, the switches of many keyboards with the same price will have obvious astringent feeling, which is not the case with Moon Shadow Yellow. But I also obviously feel that this shaft is very cheap, the shaft is relatively wobbly, and it feels very light when pressed, a bit like the earlier Jiadalong red shaft or the Huannuo shaft more than a year ago, and the rebound feeling is average.

The performance of the large keys is actually good, there is no obvious steel wire sound, and there is no sensuality. The performance of each large key is not bad, but it seems to lack a little bit of neat feeling when tapping.

After a closer look, it should be a little bit of lubricating oil (note that oil is not grease, and has stronger fluidity), which is not obvious, so the quality of the satellite shaft itself is not bad, but the lubrication is not enough, resulting in a slight texture of the big key. Worse.

The damping of the knob is good, but the card is relatively loose, and it will come off with a light pull, so be careful not to lose it.

First of all, I have recommended the cheap donkey rs2 keyboard many times before. One is because it has a more reasonable arrangement and has a complete number area with 2U size 0 keys. The other reason is that its Gasket structure is very good. This keyboard has also been reflected. After pressing, the sinking is very obvious.

The keycap is relatively thin, and the plastic of the shaft body feels thicker than it is. In addition, there is no sound-absorbing structure, so although the cavity sound is not obvious when typing, the sound performance after the shaft body hits the glass fiber positioning plate is also very sharp. , it doesn't sound good.

But the overall input experience is still okay. After all, the smoothness of the shaft body is still there, so it is definitely not impossible to use it. If you haven't touched a good mechanical keyboard before, then it is absolutely acceptable. I've been using it for a while, and it seems to work fine.

Compared with the cheap donkey rs2, Jingzao JZ990 can be said to be a simple configuration with only one body left. Although there are excellent Gasket structure and FR-4 fiberglass positioning board inside, the last stubbornness, but other materials are all Save if you can.

As a 199 yuan single-mode keyboard, if it is just used, I think there is no problem. The arrangement and knobs are very practical. The retro appearance and wear-resistant PBT keycaps are also its advantages. However, I actually think it would be better to use a PC positioning board. The FR-4 itself is a bit harder. In the absence of cushioning and noise reduction configuration at the bottom, the PC can give a better feedback experience.

Of course, another worry is the lifespan of Moon Shadow Yellow as a low-priced shaft body, but considering JD.com’s self-operated after-sales service for one year, it can be rest assured.
