Celebrating the National Day, I can finally catch up on my sleep. What I packed up today is a small keyboard, GANSS ALT71D dual-mode mechanical keyboard with 71 keys. I bought it for about a year. The advantages are very prominent, small and convenient, and good-looking. The disadvantages are also obvious. Although the keycaps are made of pbt, they are very easy to get dirty. You need to wipe them from time to time before, otherwise they will be very ugly. Today is to clean it up.

I bought a set of chain hats from Pinxixi, a total of 136 pieces, and I won it for 35 yuan. The price is too cheap, so don't have high expectations. The colors are red, white, yellow  There are three colors, and some keycaps have patterns. It is hard to say what style it is.

The material is pbt, and the workmanship and material are not bad. On the other hand, there are basically no burrs at the seal, which is relatively round, and the details are even better than the original Gauss, but the shape of the keycap is not a regular rectangle.

I used to think that I didn’t need to do this step because I coded for more than 5 hours a day, but I was slapped in the face. After removing a few keys, I was blinded. I couldn’t even determine the positions of the 26 letters, let alone punctuation marks. So take pictures honestly, first arrange the keycaps in order, there is no problem comparing the old and new, and then install them one by one in order.

After the original chain cap was removed, I found that the bottom of the keyboard was really dirty. Even if I put the dust cover on when I leave every day, I still found dust, hair, staples, snack particles, and air-dried ?.

Unexpectedly, I found lubricant on the shaft of the enter key and the right-hand shift key. If it was not left by the original factory, it must have been left by the previous buyer.

After sorting out the original chain cap, it is time to confirm the new one. On the one hand, check how many keys will be used, and on the other hand, check whether it is compatible with the original keyboard. There are a few keys on this set of chain caps that have special shapes and cannot be installed.

After putting them all in order, I compared them, and roughly determined the 71 keycaps I needed, arranged the shapes, and put them on the table.

It looks good visually, but the fly in the ointment is that the keycaps have no curvature, and individual keycaps need to be pressed more to press firmly, so you have to get used to it when typing. The size is the same as the original one, the finger pressing part is slightly larger, and the dust cover is a little bit unable to cover it (the capacity has increased). It should be more comfortable after you get used to it.
