The A81 three-mode version is packaged in silver, which looks very shiny.

In terms of product accessories, there is nothing special except for the connecting cable, a few keycaps, and a dust cover, so we will skip it. This time, the A81 three-model version has launched two brand-new color schemes - white blue and purple gold. The one I got is of course a purple-gold color scheme. It goes without saying who the prototype of this color is.

Although the product is called A81 mechanical keyboard, 75% of this keyboard is actually equipped with a keyboard. The F area is moved to the left as a whole, the interval is reduced, and the Ins and Del keys are moved up to the F area. The lower part cancels the Ctrl key on the right, moves the arrow keys inward, and moves the function indicator light to the left side of the keyboard.

Although the arrow keys are retracted, there is still a small space between the Fn key and the front teeth, so there is no need to worry too much about accidental touches.

The top of the keyboard is a whole detachable decorative strip. I don’t know if Dareu will have plans to sell other color decorative strips separately in the later stage.

The C port of the keyboard and the WIN/MAC switch are placed on the leftmost side of the decorative strip, which is very convenient for users to operate with one hand.

The mode switching switch of the keyboard is placed on the left side of the keyboard, and the positioning of the toggle is clear and accurate. Therefore, the operation keys of the entire keyboard are within easy reach of the left hand.

The Dareu A81 three-mode model is originally equipped with PBT two-color keycaps, corresponding to white-blue and purple-gold color matching, and the purple-gold keycaps are purple and white.

Dareu A81 three-mode model uses a transparent slotted positioning plate because of the addition of hot-swappable shafts. Under the positioning plate is a whole piece of silicone sandwich cotton.

The filling of the bottom case is a whole piece of open-molded silicone + Poron shaft seat cotton filling for noise reduction. This whole piece of thick silicone bottom pad also gives the whole keyboard a very solid feel. The dual battery is configured with a single 2000mAh, a total of 4000mAh. The official claims that the battery life is 45 days with the lights off and 7 days with the lights on.

As for the connection method, the A81 triple template still uses the elastic arm Gasket connection of the previous A81 single template—that is, the trunnion on the PCB version is lengthened, and the two ends are supported and fixed with small silicone sleeves. Compared with the A81 single template, this time because of the return of the positioning board, the hand feel is naturally not as soft as the single template, but there is no need to worry about the level of slight sinking deformation.

As for the axis body, the sky axis V3 and Zijin PRO axis are used. The former is a linear axis, and the latter is a tea-like axis feel. With a complete set of filling and noise reduction solutions, the sound performance is quite good. What's interesting is that Dareu has replaced the shaft spring with a spring with a stronger trigger force on the large key position, so that the large key position has a more crisp feel. With the new customized satellite switch of the same model as the A98 PRO, the large key feels very good. Satisfying.

In terms of RGB lighting effects, because of the use of a white transparent positioning board, the brightness of the RGB lights will not be too dim.

Dareu A81 series, in terms of series selection, if you pursue a soft elastic steel-free feel and don’t mind single-mode connection, then the A81 single-mode version is definitely the best choice. If you don’t have the requirement of extremely soft and elastic hand feel, or if you pay more attention to wireless connection, then this time the three-mode version is undoubtedly a better choice, not to mention that the three-mode version is more playable and has more complete configuration.
