Kechuang Keychron Q8 customized keyboard - special-shaped metal keyboard

Tommy hasn’t bought a new keyboard for a long time. I stumbled upon other people’s posts by accident. I saw the layout of a special-shaped keyboard and wanted to buy one. Then I mainly have 104 108 keyboards in my hand. I have an 87 keyboard. I want to try this kind of keyboard. 67 keyboard.

I bought the Q8 keyboard and matching hand rest, after all, the traditional straight hand rest cannot match.

There are quite a lot of accessories at a glance, such as cap puller, shaft puller, screwdriver, wrench, extra screw accessories and keycaps, etc.

In the front view of Q8, except for the curved bottom, the other three sides are straight. The shaped layout may be more comfortable to type, and there are spaces and Fn and B keys on the left and right parts. The overall CNC shell is very thick, and I like the blue color very much.

It looks like Q8 is also a very good-looking keyboard. The double-layer Gasket customized keyboard has very high playability in the later stage. There is another model with a volume knob in the upper right corner. One is that it is out of stock, and the other is that Tommy has an independent volume adjustment knob, so there is no need to bring another one.

The Q8's keycap is made of OSA's PBT material, which feels good. Tommy chose the green switch of G pro to experience the snapping sound of typing, and it will definitely attract people to bring it to the coffee shop. In addition, in terms of key travel, it is slightly longer and softer than Tommy’s commonly used realforce RGB electrostatic capacitive keyboard. It is also good overall and can be adapted quickly.

There is a type C interface at the back, and next to it is a switch between windows and Mac systems. In addition, Q8 also supports QMK and VIA's open source key change programming, shortcut keys, backlight and buttons can be changed. As for the backlight effect, because the keycaps are not transparent, you can only see the light from the gap between the keycaps, which is better than nothing.

The golden screws on the back of the Q8 and the blue seat cushion are reserved in the accessories. The entire keyboard shell has no texture, and the sandblasting process is also in place.

The matching black walnut hand rest has the keychron logo on the lower right corner.

All in all, the keyboard of Keychron Q8 has a very good appearance, and with Alice’s special-shaped layout, it is a very individual keyboard, which is suitable for the extra keyboard in the keyboard library to experience different feelings.
