Some time ago, I received a Caizang mechanical keyboard with the key in the hand and a keycap jointly branded with the key in the hand and the customized manufacturer Matrix, so let’s take a look at how these two products perform.

This keyboard of Caizang adopts the popular 75% arrangement, and the 12 keys in the F area are adjusted to a compact design without intervals, but there is still a certain gap between the ESC keys to avoid accidental touches. As mentioned earlier, the design of this strip-shaped indicator light is very interesting, and after the light is turned on, it feels like it just changes from black to white, which is not obtrusive, and it is well integrated with the overall style of the keyboard.

This keyboard uses ABS two-color keycaps. In fact, after the domestic mechanical keyboards became popular with PBT keycaps, ABS keycaps with excellent hand feel have rarely been seen on the market. The recent new products of Amilo and Shoujian also use ABS as the keycap material.

Compared with PBT, although ABS has a certain gap in wear resistance, the actual hand feel is indeed better, and the ABS under Amilo has relatively good wear resistance in terms of texture and formula. It's not that big, you won't feel obvious oiling for half a year to a year, and at the same time, the soft and waxy feel is something that PBT can't give at all.

Some characters/patterns are engraved on the upper side of some keys, and the combination of these keys and Fn can realize the corresponding functions of the engraving part.

The backlight of this keyboard is monochromatic white light, and Amilo's brand insistence on not using RGB has also continued to the keys in the hand, but it is true that the overall temperament of this keyboard is really not suitable for RGB backlighting.

After adjusting the brightness to the maximum through the knob, the actual brightness is good. Although the keycap characters are opaque, they can fully illuminate the eyes and add a sense of atmosphere to the entire keyboard.

Next is the highlight of this keyboard, the electrostatic capacitor. Unlike the electrostatic capacitive keyboard, the appearance of the electrostatic capacitor switch looks exactly the same as the traditional mechanical switch. The difference is that it relies on the change of capacitance when the shaft is pressed down to trigger, so there is no contact with metal shrapnel inside it. This brings two benefits:

① There is no friction between the metal shrapnel, so the smoothness of the entire shaft body is better. Compared with conventional mechanical shafts, this is a racial advantage.

②Similarly, because there is no shrapnel contact friction, there is no problem of shrapnel aging or disconnection, so the theoretical life of the electrostatic capacitor shaft is unlimited, and it is not easy to cause problems.

The one in my hand is the wormwood gray shaft version. This shaft uses a nylon upper cover, which reduces rebound noise and becomes smoother as it is used. At the same time, it is equipped with an extended spring, which has a stronger initial pressure, is not easy to touch by mistake, and the rebound is more consistent with the hand, and the feel is more springy.

Matrix's customized kits are often sold at around 3000, and after a few years of purchase, there will be different degrees of appreciation, and the market recognition is extremely high.

After Matrix co-produced a set of keycaps with No1 keycap manufacturer GMK some time ago, it soon launched a new set of ABS two-color keycaps in cooperation with the hand key.

The packaging is crude among the top keycaps, but compared to its price, it is actually a reasonable level. This is a base kit version, with a total of three layers of plastic shells.

The Base version has a total of 169 keycaps, which can be regarded as a complete set, and can be compatible with most mass-produced mechanical keyboards in the market.

The overall color scheme is blue in three different depths. The large keys and the functional area are darkened blue. The color of the main key area is medium. The blue of the space ESC, Enter and other keys is brighter. At the same time, there are yellow spaces that can be replaced. .

The other color of the two colors, that is, the back of the keycap adopts a uniform light yellow color.

Many keycaps still have the Shuriken LOGO on the surface of the keycap, and they are organically combined with other patterns. The skin-like texture on the surface of the keycap is soft and delicate.

The nozzles on the back are consistent and the chrysanthemums are regular.

In fact, a large number of good customized keycaps are made of ABS material, including GMK and MAXKEY, which have many classic ABS keycaps.

These two keycaps may be the same set of molds, but there are differences in materials and characters.

After putting on this set of keycaps, Cai Zang has another style, which looks fresher than the original keycaps.

In fact, this set of co-branded keycaps is very adaptable. The blue color is more versatile, and basically dark keyboards can be adapted. Some bright keyboards are also available.

In fact, in addition to the ordinary arrow keys and ESC, this Base version also has replacement keycaps with different patterns to choose from.

If it is not necessary to use a keyboard for many years, and a set of keycaps for several years, the upper limit of the good ABS feel is definitely better than PBT.

Compared with PBT, ABS will also have obvious differences in sound, such as the mahjong sound that is currently popular with PBT. The bottom of the ABS keycap will not feel a little stuffy like PBT, but a very crisp feeling. Whether you use the linear axis or the paragraph axis, you will have a new experience.

Considering that the original keycaps that were just hidden are also good enough, I plan to put this set of keycaps back on other keyboards that need it more.

Seeing that the low-end and mid-range keyboards are selling well, it is unlikely that Amilo will not be in a hurry, but after adjustments, the brand of hand keys still stays at the high-end.
