For the players, the gameplay is also more innovative. Before playing with the keyboard, it was nothing more than changing the shaft body and changing the keycap.

Later, it developed to lubricate the shaft, replace the satellite shaft or lubricate and adjust the satellite shaft for a smoother feel and a cleaner sound.

For a long time, customized keyboards are generally based on small arrays, and few have digital areas. After all, it is necessary to reflect individuality. However, from the perspective of use, there are still many friends who need a digital area, and the standard 104 configuration somewhat occupies the position of the mouse, so the 98 configuration is the most popular configuration since last year, and the Q5 of Kechuang is one of the few on the market. The mass-produced low-priced aluminum tuotuo is also a very good keyboard on the market.

It is worth noting that there are actually two large versions of the Q5, the version with knobs and the version without knobs. The difference between the two isn't just the presence or absence of knobs. The no-knob version is actually a 100-arrangement that pulls out the space. There is no partition at all in the F area, and it is not convenient to blindly press the buttons in the F area. The knob version is similar to the standard 98 layout of Leopold's patent. Good Kechuang first made the button in the upper right corner into a knob, and then moved the three buttons next to it to the left as a whole. In addition to a bit of obsessive-compulsive disorder, the overall practicality of this arrangement is still very high. In addition, the knob version is generally tens of dollars more expensive than the no-knob version when purchased.

Compared with another Altuotuo Mogeek M2 with 98 series on the market, the price of Kechuang Q5 is much more expensive, but the overall texture is still much higher. It belongs to the kind of two kits put together. I don’t know People can see the difference in who is more expensive at a glance. In addition, I think that in terms of the entire design structure of Mogeek, the M2 is obviously uglier than the M1.

However, the finished Q5 is a keyboard with a Gasket structure, although there is no problem in using it at first hand. But first of all, the sound performance is average, and secondly, the metal positioning plate, there is resonance when some keys are tapped, and the bottoming feel of typing will also feel hard.

So in fact, there are relatively ready-made plans for the entire transformation of Q5 on the Internet. The basic operation is to change the filling, and then replace it with PC or FR-4 positioning board. The next step is to add a middle frame (so that the edge of the shaft does not leak light at all), add a sound insulation board at the bottom, change the satellite shaft, change the shaft, replace the cushioning strip, stick tape, etc.

I'm not that obsessed with the sound, so I actually did the step of changing the fill and positioning plate.

There is nothing to say about disassembly. After disassembly, you can see that the original bottom of Q5 is a very thin piece of PE foam, but a layer of plastic insulation is added between the bottom case and the bottom case, which is well received. The middle sandwich part is black EVA. Note that there are screws between the positioning board and the PCB, and you need to remove all the screws. It is worth mentioning that all the screws used by keychron are of very good quality. Because the filling and positioning plate are to be replaced, the shaft must be pulled out and removed entirely.

Then it is to replace the Q5 dedicated positioning board and sound package that I bought before. Note that the knob version is different from the non-knob version, so make sure you buy it right. There are three pieces of padding in the sound bag, poron bottom cotton, ixpe shaft under pad and poron sandwich cotton.

Because there are no studs on the PC positioning board, you can choose the extra plastic studs that come with the positioning board to fix the positioning board and PCB, but in fact, the shaft body itself can play a fixed role, so there is no problem without screws.

In addition, it should be noted that the cushioning sliver of Q5 is also made of poron, but it is pasted on the positioning board, so carefully tear it off and stick it back to the PC positioning board. There are actually six places on the positioning board where cotton slivers can be glued, but Kechuang actually only glued four places on the left and right sides, which is enough.

After everything was done, I found out that there are some modification materials in the Q5 box, including poron tampons. So in fact, I can consider not tearing from the original positioning board or simply filling all six positions.

Lay the pad under the shaft, put the sandwich cotton, and install a few shafts, even if the PCB and the positioning plate are fixed, the next step is to install all the shafts.

After it is installed, remember to lay the bottom cotton on the bottom. The bottom cotton of the sound bag I bought is grooved for the shaft seat, and it just needs to be aligned.

Finally screw on the screws and you're done. You can listen to the sound before and after changing the positioning board and filling.

Because I did not replace the switch body, nor did I run the switch, and the original G red pro is not a voice actor switch, so the current sound is far from being adjusted to an optimal state, but at least it has improved greatly compared to the initial state. The resonance of the aluminum frame has basically disappeared.

In addition, after changing the PC, the bottoming is softer, and the feel can be regarded as a certain improvement.

In fact, there are no certain rules for playing the keyboard itself. It is not necessary to modify a keyboard according to the standard operation process. According to your own needs and preferences, you can modify a keyboard that suits you.
