A little popular science at the beginning: In order to better fix the shaft body, the internal structure of most keyboards on the market before is composed of PCB, shaft body and positioning board, because the previous positioning board is generally made of iron or steel, so it is used to Call it a steel plate. Now although the material of the positioning board has become various, in addition to steel and PC, glass fiber, we can still collectively call it a steel plate, and a keyboard without a positioning board is called a steelless keyboard.

Before Double Eleven last year, Dareu launched a mechanical keyboard without a positioning board, the A81 single-mode, as a representative of mass-produced Gasket keyboards, Dareu took the lead in taking the first step on a platform without a positioning board. However, A81 has many features in design and feel, but also cannot support hot-swapping due to structural reasons. In addition, each company seems to be more and more handy in designing the keyboard structure. The design without positioning board is no longer soft. The only solution to the feeling.

So recently Dareu has launched the new A81 three-mode, on the basis of retaining the original design, added hot-swappable, three-mode connection, RGB backlight, and naturally added a positioning board inside, so the keyboard's How was the experience? Let's take a look together.

In terms of accessories, it is a conventional data cable, a shaft puller, a few replacement keycaps, and a dust cover. There are two colors of purple-gold and white-blue on the outside. Interestingly, it corresponds to the colors of the two switch bodies on this keyboard, the purple-gold switch and the sky switch V3. The one I have is white and blue.

75% configuration, but the arrow keys and the main keypad are not completely separated, they are pasted together with the right shift, and the right side of the ↑ key is the indicator light of this keyboard. The advantage of this design is that the arrow keys do not need to sink down, but the disadvantage is that there is a certain chance of accidentally touching the arrow keys when pressing the right shift.

The overall appearance of the white and blue color scheme is relatively fresh, because the fonts illuminated by the light look a little light, but in fact they are still very clear.

The highlight of the A81 this time is the elastic arm Gasket structure and the upgraded internal padding, so it is obviously unreasonable to let everyone take a look inside it without dismantling it for evaluation. There are no screws to fix the entire shell, and the upper cover can be removed without opening the buckle.

It is worth noting that the light blue part of the decorative strip on the upper cover can be replaced, but Dareu has not launched other replaceable decorative strips for the time being.

Below the indicator light on the lower right is actually a whole blue module, which is a specially designed 2.4G storage compartment, and the small white plastic piece can blur the light of the indicator light. I finally understand that A81 is the reason for this arrangement.

Pay attention to the Gasket structure of the elastic arm. Unlike most Gaskets that rely on the soft connection between the positioning plate and the upper and lower covers, the A81 is responsible for the supporting structure of the PCB board. At the same time, a T-shaped extension is designed for the PCB board, which is the elastic arm.

A white convex silicone sleeve on each side of the elastic arm falls into the pre-cut circular groove, which not only ensures the elasticity, but also ensures that the positioning plate is fixed in the internal horizontal direction.

The gap between the positioning board and the PCB is filled with white silicone, but the density of the silicone is very high, and there is no obvious space for deformation. At the same time, the positioning board above has been slotted again. In fact, I don’t think it is very meaningful. The positioning board itself is slotted for soft bounce, and now the A81 is responsible for the soft bounce. PCB, so there is no need for slotting on the positioning board. .

The filling at the bottom is the highlight, a piece of slotted Poron and a molded white silicone pad at the bottom.

The two batteries are also placed in the bottom silicone groove.

The back of the silicone pad is even punched and engraved. The configuration of the entire bottom padding is luxurious. It is worth noting that because the keyboard has a large space in the upper part of the slope structure and a small space in the front and lower parts, the poron bottom cotton does not extend to the bottom, but leaves the bottom row out.

Generally speaking, the internal padding of the A81 three-mode keyboard is very good for mass-produced keyboards, especially big brands generally do not use pure poron as padding, because there will be problems with stability and lifespan. The A81 three-mode silicone is the bone, and the poron is the most suitable structure.

The A81 three-model purple-gold color scheme and white-blue color scheme can be said to be two completely different color schemes. Relatively speaking, the white-blue color looks more peaceful and is more suitable for home and office environments.

At the end of last year, Dareu replaced the brand-new Zijin satellite shaft in a large area, and Dareu's big key is no longer a slot, but directly enters the T0 level. This time, the large keys of the A81 will not make any noise when pressed continuously and quickly, and the rebound is very handy, and there is no fault at all.

The two-color PBT keycap with OEM height, closed characters, and the surface is slightly frosted. The characters have no obvious concave-convex feeling to the touch, and the overall level is still acceptable. However, in the past year, ball caps in mass-produced keyboards have become popular. After using various ball caps, you will feel that the edge of the keycap mold of Dareu is too tough. Of course, from another point of view, it seems that the PBT content of Dareu's keycaps is not low, and it is estimated that the wear resistance is good.

Because the positioning board/silica gel/PCB of the A81 three-mode is actually a thick three-layer sandwich board with almost no gaps, the sound performance is average, and those who want to listen to HIFI typing sounds can give up.

But the overall typing feel is as good as ever. The sky switch V3 has good smoothness and good consistency. Time to use without fatigue.

The RGB backlight can only be reflected through the gaps between the keycaps, and the brightness is relatively average, which is an ambient light level.

The A81 does not have a foot support. Although the default height is still comfortable for me, I think it would be better to give users more height choices.

If the structural design of the A81 single-mode is very radical, then the A81 single-mode returns to the traditional design, and uses Dareu’s latest elastic arm Gasket solution, from the first version of the Gasket to the A87pro’s fence type, to the A81 single-mode Dareu has been trying various possibilities of the internal structure of the keyboard, from the elastic arm Gasket of the mold without steel to the Gasket of the A81 three-mode Gasket with the positioning plate.

According to the actual experience, although the internal structure of A98, A87pro and A81 are different, the hand feel is relatively close, and it can be regarded as a relatively unique Dareu flavor.
