Keyboard Modification Record Part 2: G80-3000 Magic Modification 87-Key TKL

As a classic mechanical keyboard, all kinds of modifications have been said to be the ultimate. Simply changing the shaft and changing the color is already a daily operation. A certain seafood market has already launched a metal adapter case, which is to catch the love of cherries lovers. It's a fascination with wide-brow styling.

The only regret is that there are only 104 keys that remain unchanged throughout the ages. Although there are new products such as 3000s in the later period, I always think that this is a reverse upgrade and loses the original flavor.

There are cases of modification at stations z and station b, but there is basically no process, so this time I will do it with my eyes and see if I can do it with my hands, and try it for myself.

Of course, the keyboard is in 2 hands, and the black switch 31 is in hand.

Wiring first to check the damage. F1 has a broken wire, and the flying wire is repaired. There are two other shaft feet broken, and changing the shaft can easily kill in seconds, and then we can get to the point.

To dry after washing

Start with the upper case and cut off the keypad area with a cutter

The interface is polished and smoothed, and then compared

Nail-free glue, let it rest for 48 hours to achieve maximum strength.

Next is the back cover. Originally, there are two cutting methods. If a section is cut off in the middle, the feet on both sides can be kept, but the buckle of the upper cover also needs to be changed, which is troublesome. The other is to cut the knife according to the cutting position of the upper cover. The advantage is that the buckle does not need to be changed, and the disadvantage is that the lack of a foot support looks awkward. After two days of consideration, I chose the latter.

The shell is easy to handle, but the real difficulty is the main control flying wire.

The main control is divided into two cables, one with 14 pins and the other with 12 pins. There are 168 types of combinations, so theoretically it can support up to 168 buttons. This keyboard only uses 104. Number each line, and then connect them back to the original circuit according to the line on the pcb.

Finally got a Pansi hole keyboard

After testing, I found that most of the keys were triggered, and a few keys did not work. I studied the wiring and found that the wiring of these keys had to go through the small keyboard area and then go back to the main key area. Two wires flew to solve the problem.

I originally planned to change the shaft, but it turned out that it was too troublesome to get so many flying wires, so I changed all the springs of the old black shaft and changed it to a 53-gram double-stage spring.

The keycap is ck, and silence is golden, but the space does not support cherry's partial chrysanthemum, so I can't find a macho fan to make up for it.

The shell still needs to be polished and painted. It’s windy in the north, and the indoor smell is too strong. Let’s just make do with it and change the color when the weather is right.
