The main purpose of this column is to share some of the keycaps I bought. With the prosperity of the domestic keyboard market, more and more manufacturers are appearing. Many players have no specific concept of the product level of the new manufacturers. This column will mainly focus on the products of different production lines of each manufacturer. Share, I will also re-evaluate after the manufacturer's product is updated. Of course, the evaluation speed may not be so timely due to various reasons (mainly poor), but I will try my best to share it with everyone. At the same time, this issue is also a keycap recommendation, which is a stamp-themed keycap that I like recently. Evaluation is not easy, please give more likes, attention and support.

This keycap has a relatively rare theme - "stamp". In fact, stamps have always been a very vague image in my mind, with only very sporadic memory points, because I can't remember how many years, and I soon stepped into surfing in China. In the era, PHS and Nokia gradually became the mainstream communication devices of that era.

The most impressive thing about stamps may be "Nostalgia" from Yu Guangzhong's poems, "A Letter" and "Cremation" by Ji Xian. Stamps have always existed as an image in my mind vaguely. Square and square, a small one is pasted on the letter.

The first reason I bought this set of keycaps is that I like the color of this keycap very much. It gives people a warm and comfortable feeling. After clicking on the IC, I can see the designer’s careful design language explanation. For designers, stamps condense "a piece of joy, a piece of preciousness, a piece of deep thoughts and concern", and combining the theme of stamps and letters with the keyboard, this set of keycaps for stamps was born. This also reflects the changes of the times, from handwritten letters to messages transmitted by fingertips, from stamps to keyboards, from letters to radio waves, and making stamps into the shape of keycaps actually contains a little thought.

This set of keycaps is the studio's second set of keycaps, designed by Ovie Grant. The keycap Low tea (low tea) they designed before was also designed by this designer.

Speaking of keycaps, I was actually in a state of uncertainty when buying keycaps this time, but according to some known information, I finally made the order.

The production process used for the stamp keycap this time is injection molding coloring + single-sided thermal sublimation, which is also a relatively safe choice in my personal opinion. The advantage of this method is that the first color will not have a gradient, and the second is that the printing position of the characters will be much more straight. Of course, this method also has some additional restrictions, which will not be explained here. How to distinguish between injection molding and five-sided sublimation, the easiest way is to observe whether the color of the bottom of the keycap is consistent with the outside, of course, there is a special situation, that is, white material but made of white five-sided sublimation, this Sometimes you need to look at some color differences at the bottom of the side of the keycap to make a distinction. Generally speaking, the cost of injection molding + single-sided sublimation is also higher than that of ordinary single-sided, and the color effect will be better.

The effect of the proofing of the material of this set of keycaps looks good, but the white area is still brighter compared with the rendered image. It may be because of the greater contrast with the kraft paper tone in the mod area, so it is not made more yellow. .

This time, the purchase method of the keycaps is to deliver goods after the spot group is cut off, and at the same time it is sold on the platform. I like this very much. I also hope that more and more manufacturers can sell goods through the platform. own responsibility.

There is only one purchase option for this set of keycaps, a large set of 399. This price is not cheap, and it is not expensive. But expensive is still worth it, in the end it depends on the quality of the keycap. In fact, if the head of the group considers selling kits, there may be more room for choice. However, considering various reasons, including shipments and sales, I finally chose a small-volume, large-scale kit, which is a safe choice. .

Before talking about the advantages of this set of keycaps, let me talk about a few places that I think can be improved.

It can be seen that a lot of effort has been put into the outer packaging this time to create a differentiated effect, and the appearance design is also gift boxed, full of sincerity. The damping between the upper and lower shells is also well done, and it is easy to pull out the upper cover.

Maybe many players can't help but like it when they see such a serious packaging. Before that, I have to pour a pot of cold water. The packaging of this set of keycaps is defective.

This is the package after I have sorted it out. The blister made of the whole package is tightly pressed under the protection of the outer package, but when it is taken out, the original shape is revealed. The buckle of this package is basically useless. If you simulate it In the process of using it, the player may only grab the blister when holding a certain layer, and the base will be directly detached, which will cause the keycaps to be scattered all over the place. The second problem also arises. There is no problem with the packaging of this set of keycaps. The main reason is that the big set has five layers, which are just stuck in the whole box. If the kit purchase option is opened in the future, there are only two or three layers. During the transportation of the multi-layer packaging, the upper cover is likely to fall off, causing all the keycaps inside to come out, and when the player receives the hand and opens the package excitedly, they may face a mess. Hope this can be improved.

This set of keycaps is a full set of 187 keys, but since it is a full set, I hope to add more matching supplements, such as adding 6u, 3u, 2u, and 1.75u to the space for players to use

After talking about these external problems, let's take a look at the level of the keycap itself.

The feel of this set of keycaps is not particularly slippery, almost at the level of 200-300, but I think that if you don’t pursue a particularly slippery feeling, the feel of this set of keycaps should be better than many thermal sublimation on the market. Much better, at an upper-middle level.

The clarity of this picture is not very high. I mainly want to see the matte treatment on the surface of the keycap through the reflection. In daily use, as long as you give some light, you can see the more obvious matte surface, which has a shimmering effect. I feel, but this point is different. In fact, their matte is relatively thick and not very uniform. If the matte is fine and even, the surface consistency will be better. However, this set of keycaps 399 is based on design. + OEM, I think it is worthy of the price. But this matte has greatly improved the feel, without stickiness and dryness, and the higher content of PBT also makes the whole product more moist.

It is a relatively solid material, but the chrysanthemum is often the position that contains the most information on the keycap. If the front is the skin of the keycap, then the chrysanthemum is the soul of the keycap.

For the nozzle, the injection molding point is made at the bottom of the keycap, which is worthy of praise, but the increase in difficulty will test the manufacturer's craftsmanship.

In fact, many people have noticed that the bottom overflow of this keycap is quite obvious.

My personal understanding of craftsmanship is not very fine, so here are a few simple reasons that I guess lead to this phenomenon.

However, considering the price positioning of this set of keycaps, I personally think that we can't expect too much. The above are some of my humble opinions, just watch it for fun.

The shading is very good, basically up to the standard

The character printing of this set of keycaps is not smudged, but the color of the characters is not very dark black. I understand that the design is intentional, because the theme of this set of keycaps is stamps, which travel through time and space and have a sense of age. The ink has also faded over time. (The camera effect of the mobile phone is not good, and the real object will be more obvious), overall it is worth the money.

The gap control of this set of keycaps is much better than I thought, and it is also what I think is the most satisfying part of this set of keycaps. I have measured more than a dozen of them, and each one has been measured repeatedly. Basically, the width is 18.1. It is about ±0.1, which is commendable.

I have some opinions on the chrysanthemum. The bulky version I received this time, the chrysanthemum is very tight. I have tried several shafts, Jiadalong, jwk, cherry, basically all in one Although there are some tolerance issues between keycap manufacturers, jwk is small, cherry standard, and Jiadalong is a little bigger. I dare not put on the ttc shaft, for fear that it will crack me. Although it is much better after plugging and unplugging a few times, this also shows that the toughness may not be so good. Poor toughness is actually a common problem of many keycaps. Many players have reported that after some keycaps are used on the ttc, they are basically stuck on the shaft of the jwk. This is because the ttc axis is too large, and the keycaps are stretched out. After a long time, the toughness is poor. Some keycaps will be deformed and become the shape of ttc. I can’t blame the keycap manufacturers for this point. I personally think that the shaft manufacturers also have a lot of responsibility, but these things are relatively controversial. It is just my personal opinion and some subjective ideas.

If the toughness is not good, the worst result is cracking. Fortunately, these keycaps are still strong. There is no cracking phenomenon. In fact, I can understand it. After all, they are a relatively young foundry studio, and I hope everyone can Take a more tolerant look at these new original keycap manufacturers, and give them more patience and time to grow and improve.

I like the design of this set of keycaps very much. It is a rare theme. It is not so old-fashioned to say that it is retro. Perhaps what attracts me is the longing for the vague concept of stamps. Regarding the design concept of this set of keycaps, I have already talked about it in detail in the ic post, so I won't repeat it here.

This set of keycaps is indeed not top-notch, but I am still willing to buy it in the end. It is the entire team that gives me confidence. The team leader and designer’s information collection and feedback on players are really tangible. .
