Not long ago, I reviewed RK's new H87, which is the 87-key + knob design keyboard with a mobile phone groove (ashtray) on the upper part. I think RK's price-performance ratio is not bad under 500 yuan, so I bought it this time. An old product of their family, RK98, has a good price/performance ratio. After using it for a while, I will bring you this unboxing evaluation.

The quality control of the first batch of RK 98 had a small problem, which was complained by many players. After the satellite switch was replaced in the subsequent batch, it felt very good. It is worth starting with a 98-like keyboard at around 400 yuan. There are warriors in terms of keycap color matching. .

Unpacking and packing accessories

RK's packaging is not as monotonous as before, it has a red and conspicuous pull-out cover.

After opening the box, you can see the keyboard*1, the dual-purpose shaft puller*1, the plastic type-c data cable*1, the instruction manual*1, and the dust cover*1.

Although the model name of RK98 is 98, it is actually 100 keys. There are more PrtSc and Del keys on the right side of F12, and the F area is moved to the left. F1 is above the number 1. For friends who have developed muscle memory in playing dota2, Games are not very convenient.

There are three keycap colors of warrior, shimmer, and water green. The one in my hand is a water green color, and the white and green colors are spliced ​​together. The overall appearance of the keyboard is very high.

The design is basically the same as that of the H87. The plug-in port is on the upper left corner of the keyboard, and there are also two USB expansion ports. However, the domestic version of RK98 is sealed and cannot be used. I don’t know why. It is said that the foreign version seems to support the use of these two USB ports. expansion port.

Flip to the back, on both sides are relatively tight two-stage feet, which are not easy to move around when propped up. Next to the left foot is the storage slot for the wireless 2.4g receiver, which is magnetically attached to it, so don’t worry about not using the 2.4G time to fall.

There are two small physical switches in the lower left corner, the left side is the Bluetooth and wireless 2.4G switch, and the right switch is the wired and wireless switch. The design is relatively small because the switch is too large to cause the back to bulge.

The LEDs are arranged vertically between the numeric keypad and the letter area.

The keycaps are two-color injection molded OEM height keycaps made of PBT, which are opaque as a whole. When the keycaps of several large keys are taken off, there is no problem of rotten chrysanthemums. The overall quality of the keycaps is good. RK's logo is more eye-catching.

The full key supports three-pin and five-pin shaft hot-swappable, the lower lamp position design, a layer of sandwich cotton under the space, the overall cavity sound is not very serious

The overall quality of this batch of satellite shafts in my hand is good, and the factory lubrication is not very thick, which is just right. If I remember correctly, RK Taobao store started selling this batch of satellite shafts separately a while ago. It seems to be more than a dozen yuan. For the money, the price/performance ratio is very high.

The axis body is conveniently equipped with TTC's joint colorful axis, which comes with a light guide column. Personally, I feel that there is not much difference between the feel and gold powder. I feel that the initial pressure difference is not big when I take it out and collide with gold powder. However, I personally feel that Colorful is a bit duller than gold powder, and it is heavier to use. It is not as smooth as gold powder.

It is worth mentioning that RK98 is the same as RKH87. Although they are all colorful switches, different keycaps use different colors. The water green keycap is a green upper cover switch body, the low light keycap is a yellow upper cover switch body, and the warrior keycap It is the shaft body of the red upper cover.

Since it is the light guide column version, I have to show the lighting effect. Whether it is during the day or after the lights are turned off, the overall lighting effect is good, and the most surprising thing is that it also supports music rhythm.

If your budget is around 400 yuan, you don’t mind the compact layout of 100 keys, and you want to buy a mechanical keyboard with good grip and good RGB effects, then I think RK98 is a very cost-effective choice, and the overall adjustment of large keys is also good. There is no serious cavity sound, and the smoothness of the TTC colorful shaft is also good, so it is worth buying.
