That's right! It is also the flagship of the optical short axis!
On July 26, the Razer DEATHSTALKER V2 series keyboards were officially released, which are divided into wired version, wireless version (104 keys) and wireless competitive version (87 keys).
All three are equipped with Razer’s own low-end optical switches. The wireless version and the wireless competitive version both support Razer™ HyperSpeed wireless technology 2.4G + three-device Bluetooth 5.0. They come with all-metal multi-function dials and multimedia buttons, and the battery life reaches 40 hours respectively. And 50 hours, can be described as the best.

▲The ultra-short shaft body brings a sufficiently slim body shape to Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2. The all-aluminum top cover and the exclusive RGB of the lamp factory make the desktop scenery unique and the tapping experience is also very comfortable.
More pictures and real shots, detailed evaluation is here! In this short article, I will take you to take a glimpse of the beauty of this low-axis flagship of the lamp factory. The article is divided into two parts: unboxing and experience, and strive to give you a comprehensive analysis.
The Razer held by Bidian Coolplay is a 104-key wireless version of the Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 Pro with a numeric keypad area, full-size + wireless three-mode.
Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 PRO is made of very solid materials. The 5052 aviation-grade aluminum alloy top cover is used, and the black satin finish that has been anodized is both scratch-resistant and anti-corrosion, and has strong durability.
The shape is compact and simple, the side panel and forehead are all streamlined, with the Razer optical low axis, the N key has no punch, the thickness of the keyboard is only 18.4mm, and the net weight is only 1.03kg, with a slim and neat appearance.
The actual measurement of the height of the support feet of the first gear and the second gear is about 24mm and 32mm respectively. Compared with the conventional full-size keyboard, the difference in thickness is very obvious (the supporting legs are not extended, the thickness of the Razer Soul Eater V2 Pro on the left is 18mm, and the conventional wireless keyboard on the right is 34mm).
In addition to the manual and the Razer stickers, the accessories are a USB-A to USB-C charging cable (detachable braided fiber material) and an A to C adapter, which can be used with the cable to achieve a 2.4G receiver extension.
Three-stage support feet, 5 large-area foot pads, the front end is slightly convex with an elegant curved surface transition, and the integrated design texture on the back is very strong. One side of the support leg hides the storage compartment of the 2.4G signal receiver.
The USB receiver condensed to the limit can use Razer™HyperSpeed to realize a receiver connected to 2 Razer peripherals at the same time, so it can solve the problem of insufficient USB ports.
Razer provides two types of low-axis optical switches for Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2, including the linear red switch in my hand, and another "paragraph purple switch".
The total stroke of the linear red axis of the Razer optical short switch is 2.8mm, the trigger stroke is 1.4mm, and the trigger force is 45g. The force is 50g, and the service life of both keys has reached 70 million times.
I still remember the last time I came into contact with the light axis Razer Hunting Light Spider from the light factory. Now the optical axis is shorter, the trigger is faster, and the rebound has zero delay, keeping pace with the performance of the optical axis at full height, with a lifespan of 70 million times and super durability.
The difference between the Razer optical switch and the traditional mechanical key switch is that there are fewer internal moving parts, and there is no need for metal contacts to trigger, but to use light shielding to achieve signal transmission. What you do, just press the key shaft, the shaft blocks the beam to trigger the signal, so compared to the signal triggering of physical contact, the delay is lower and the trigger speed is faster.
The ABS keycaps used in the Razer Soul Eater V2 PRO have a scratch-resistant and wear-resistant coating. Compared with ordinary two-color injection keycaps, the keycaps with ultra-durable coating are not easy to fade and wear for a long time .
The characters on the keycaps are laser-etched, the fonts are finer and clearer, and the light transmission is uniform and bright.
A small detail is that the auxiliary punctuation characters next to the main characters are also laser-etched. They can be easily recognized under the RGB backlight, and they are still clearly visible after the backlight is turned off.
Now that the wireless three-mode is done, it must be practical at the ceiling level, as you can see after seeing the top test button area of the Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 PRO.
In these two pictures, the rightmost switch is the Bluetooth-OFF (wired) + 2.4G wireless switch; the far left is the Type-C cable/charging interface and 2 indicator lights (signal/battery status). There are 3 Bluetooth device shortcut keys, which can quickly switch up to 3 devices bound to the keyboard. There is no need for cumbersome operations in a multi-purpose scenario, such as notebook + tablet + mobile phone, and the keyboard is used to switch between 3 devices, just one click just fine. Once the keyboard is out of power, plug in the cable and use it while charging, and the indicator light next to it will be solid green when it is fully charged.
It stands to reason that the RGB lighting effect consumes a lot of power, but the Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 PRO professional version packs a large-capacity battery into the slim body, and can work continuously for 40 hours under the 50% brightness cycle spectrum lighting effect. For the 87-key TKL wireless competitive version, the battery life can reach 50 hours, which is far higher than the 30-hour battery life generally in the industry, which can be said to be quite PRO. You can also press Fn+Pause to activate the automatic sleep function at ordinary times, which is more than enough for daily game entertainment and office study.
Normally, you can press Fn+F11 or F12 to decrease/increase the brightness of the RGB lighting effect, or you can press Fn+End to check the remaining battery power of the keyboard. At this time, the 5 indicator lights (C1SMG) on the direction keys will change to a battery percentage indicator. Each lit light indicates 20% power, and you can also tell from the color of the light whether it needs to be charged (green>yellow>orange>red).
The multimedia key + metal scroll wheel above the small keyboard area is also one of the signatures of the Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2. The multimedia keys support single, double, and triple clicks, and the default corresponds to play/pause, next song, and previous song; the scroll wheel defaults to roll up volume +, and press the scroll wheel to mute. I have to say that the texture and feel of both are very good.
Not long after getting started, I feel deeply. After all, it is a short switch. Switching from a full-height mechanical key switch, I was a little uncomfortable with this high-speed feedback at first, but the comfort of my fingers quickly spread, and I shouted really fragrant.
The biggest feeling is that the key travel is reduced, the trigger speed is faster, and the feel is very solid. The linear red switch has a built-in silicon damper, and Razer has made careful adjustments for it. With a trigger force of 45g, it is not sticky or sticky when pressed, the key sound is not loud, and the touch is balanced and stable. 2.8mm short shaft key travel, the feeling of straight up and down is the most direct, the previous Cherry tea switch paragraph feeling disappeared. The feedback of the key shaft, coupled with the layout of the ergonomic design, the hands are not tired after typing for a long time, and the code word is very smooth. At present, it is more comfortable for me to use the first gear support foot, and I don’t feel sore wrist when typing large characters for half an hour.
Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 takes into account both e-sports games and office scenes. It also supports "game mode" when playing games. The independent multimedia dial and control keys, as well as the rich Fn function shortcut keys greatly improve the control efficiency.
Of course, there is also the Synapse Leiyun 3 driver software exclusive to the lighting factory. All Razer devices are interconnected in one. With the help of Razer Chroma, the synchronization of magic lighting effects and more custom settings can be set. Almost every button can be customized independently, and Set 16.8 million custom colors, and can also cooperate with a variety of Razer devices such as mice to achieve a super fast input or control experience.
The lighting setting interface can adjust the brightness and set the lighting effect to sleep. RGB is similar to other Razer lighting devices, and it is divided into quick effects and CHROMA advanced settings.
These preset lighting effects can also be quickly realized directly on the keyboard with Fn+Ctrl+numbers 1 to 7.
At present, the mouse used by Bidian Coolplay is Razer Baselis Snake V3 wired version. As shown in the figure below, the lighting effects of the two can be set as one and synchronized, such as the overall wave effect, lighting effect speed, rolling angle and other detailed options. Everything is available, and the playability is very high.
On the Thundercloud 3 driver, you can also check the remaining power of the keyboard, set the dimming effect and the sleep time of the node.
The Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 also supports mixed onboard memory, and can store up to 5 configuration files on the keyboard, which can be quickly switched. Through Leiyun 3, configuration files can also be linked to different games. Come on, the four-character secret realm of "Yuanshin God" V2.8 has just been completed, let's decrypt the 9 forms of Wanye Shuangshan together!
Slim and good-looking, with solid materials, I was looking forward to owning a full-size slim wireless keyboard with lights before. This Razer masterpiece is really worth my long wait.
As a wireless three-mode keyboard, the Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 PRO has a longer battery life than similar keyboards on the market, and the light effect and detail quality are outstanding, especially its zero-delay and high-feedback optical low switch, which makes the control experience more comfortable. Even better, there should be no rival so far, and it will fulfill the mission of the flagship. Personally, I think that the Razer Soul Eater Golden Scorpion V2 is very suitable for keyboard players who pursue peace and quality. The 104-key wireless version is more suitable for office and game compatible scenarios; if you like e-sports, you can also directly use the 87-key TKL version. After combining my 104-key with Baselis Snake V3, the desktop is complete.
It is worth mentioning that although this keyboard is mainly for PC users, it is also compatible with MacOS. It only needs to do a few key mappings after initialization, and supports RGB lighting effect hotkey switching. For fruit fans, it would be even better if Thundercloud 3 could also support macOS. I am Bidian Coolplay, this is the end of this detailed keyboard review, see you in the next issue!
