Peripheral Sharing Article 117: Add Arrow Keys to Small Size——HyperX ORIGINS 65 Mechanical Keyboard

Small-sized mechanical keyboards have always been my favorite. On the one hand, they are small and cute, and they take up very little space on the desktop. On the other hand, in the functional area of the full keyboard, I mostly use the letter area. , I don’t need other keys, so I’m very fond of the 60% size keyboard. I’ve also considered HyperX’s Origin 60 before, and the small 60% keys meet my daily needs, but there is no native keyboard. The arrow keys are still slightly inconvenient to use, and recently saw that HyperX launched the Origin 65 keyboard with arrow keys, and I still can’t help but want to experience it. What’s changed this time, let me take a look.

HyperX’s red and white theme color packaging is still the same. On the front, you can see the whole picture of the Origin 65 keyboard, which is different from the 68 keys of the common 65% keyboard. In the lower right corner of the Origin 65, only the standard ALT and FN keys are placed. The whole is a design of 67 keys. At the same time, I personally want to experience the feel of HyperX's own water axis, so this one is also a water axis with a micro-step feel.

There are not many accessories for the keyboard. In addition to the compiled data cable of the type-c interface, there is also a wire key puller and a replacement keycap with the same color as the water switch. If you choose the fire axis keyboard, the replacement keycap is red, which is also a small design.

As mentioned before, the keyboard adopts the design of 67 keys. The 65% size keyboard is believed to be the size that most people prefer. It takes into account the size and the direction keys. At the same time, the origin of 65 does not use three 1u arrays. The key position design makes this keyboard more optional if you want to change the keycap, you only need to add a 1.75u shift. At the same time, the original keycaps have a lot of shortcut keys printed on the side, and with the FN key to directly expand some functions of the keyboard, it is very convenient to get started.

The whole body of the keyboard is designed with an aviation-grade aluminum alloy structure, which is full of weight in the hands. The design of the narrow frame also adds some small concave shapes on the surface of the upper cover, which also gives the keyboard a little more flavor. The type-c interface of the keyboard is placed on the top right corner of the keyboard, and the interface is concaved, which also makes the connection of the keyboard data cable more stable, but the opening is not very large, and some customized cables may have compatibility problems.

The back of the keyboard adopts a very simple and round design. Except for the non-slip stickers, two-stage height feet, and our own HX logo, there is no extra design. The keyboard comes with a certain inclination design, which matches the upper foot Support processing, the optional input height is still very good.

Origin 65 is equipped with its own water axis shaft body, light paragraph feel shaft body, trigger pressure 45g, trigger stroke is 1.8mm, and total stroke 3.8mm, which also allows the water axis to take into account fast triggering and refreshing paragraph feel. At the same time, the shaft body The lamp beads adopt an external leakage design, which can bring better visual lighting effects. At the position of the space bar, two more RGB LED patch lights are added on both sides to bring a more uniform lighting effect to the space bar. The large key position of the keyboard adopts the design of the satellite axis, the overall feel is still very stable in use, there is no unnecessary shaking, and the trigger feedback is very fast at the same time, which shows that it has been adjusted to a certain extent.

The keyboard uses PBT closed two-color light-transmitting keycaps. The overall keyboard workmanship is good, and the font display effect of closed characters is also very comfortable. However, the best time for this keyboard is of course when the keyboard lights are displayed. At the same time, the Origin 65 also has two supplementary keycaps, and the space and ESC supplements are designed with laser-engraved keycaps. This choice is to bring better light transmission effects.

The leaky lamp bead design makes the lighting display of the keyboard more dazzling, the light transition is even and smooth, and the space for two LEDs is added, and the light is also very full.

Origin 65 still uses the driver of the family bucket. After connecting to the computer, the driver will automatically update the configuration part of Origin 65. In the lighting part, you can choose to display lights at the bottom and trigger lights with buttons. The close-up of multi-layered lights is quite characteristic. The button customization part also supports two-layer button settings. The double-layer control of the FN key makes the use of the keyboard more convenient. It can go with you to various usage scenarios.

HyperX Origin 65 keyboard, while ensuring the small size of the body, added the arrow keys that everyone often needs in daily life, making the use of the small size keyboard very convenient, double-layer button macro customization, rich RGB lighting effects, The easy-to-use keyboard driver and the autonomous switch body that feel very good in the hand have raised the price-performance ratio of this small keyboard to another level. I look forward to when HyperX will launch a wireless version, and the Origin 65 is basically a complete body.
