The A87 series is an evergreen tree of Dareu, and new products have been released for so many years. Also starting from the A87, the appearance and reputation of Dareu mechanical keyboards began to rise. In May of this year, the A87 series was filled with a new product: A87 Pro, which can be seen from the name alone as an upgraded version of the A87, which is divided into two versions, Sky and Black King Kong, with an official price of 599 yuan. The specific places that have been upgraded will be introduced one by one in the sharing experience below.

This time I will share with you the A87 Pro Black King Kong. The keyboard is double-packed. The front of the package shows the outline of the keyboard and the product model, and the version of the switch is pasted in the upper right corner.

The A87 Pro Black King Kong adopts a conventional 87-key arrangement, a black case, a matte surface treatment, and non-stick fingerprints.

The keycaps are black, white, and yellow. The letter and number keys and some F keys are black, the ESC and Enter keys are yellow, and the others are white. The A87 is a combination of two-color keycaps. In terms of color combination, The A87 Pro is a bit richer.

The length, width and height of the keyboard are 364mm*136mm*41mm, with a medium-thick frame and chamfered corners. The upper cover of the A87 is a magnetic adsorption design, and the A87 Pro has removed this design that is not very commonly used.

Like the A87, there are three indicator lights above the arrow keys on the keyboard. From left to right, they are uppercase and lowercase, battery power, and wireless mode.

There is a mode switching switch on the left frame of the keyboard, which can be seen from the side, the wired mode is in the middle, the 2.4G wireless mode is pushed up, and the Bluetooth mode is pushed down.

The keyboard keycap adopts the OEM height, which is slightly flat with the frame. When the backlight is turned on, you can see the overflow light effect.

The A87 uses silicone pads to reduce noise, while the A87 Pro has greatly improved noise reduction and adopts a fenced Gasket structure. As can be seen from the above figure, the upper part of the PCB board is the fence-type silicone layer, and the lower part is the bottom shell silicone layer. The fence-like structure almost fills the gap between the PC positioning board, the PCB board, the frame, and the bottom shell. It is very tight, and when typing, several households cannot hear cavity sounds and other noises.

On the right side of the front frame of the keyboard is the Dareu LOGO. It would be interesting if it was made into a LOGO light.

The bottom of the keyboard is equipped with a three-way wire guide, which is convenient for routing wires in different directions, and five non-slip foot pads are attached.

The bottom bracket adopts a two-stage structure, large and small brackets, non-slip foot pads attached to the bottom of the bracket, and a 2.4G wireless receiver storage compartment on the right side of the bracket.

Although the Type-C interface adopts a reinforced design, it is still compatible with most customized data cables on the market. The keyboard has a built-in 4000 mAh lithium battery, which supports charging and use at the same time. It lasts for more than a month when the light is off, and about 7 days when the light is on (calculated based on 4 hours of use per day). Compared with the A87, the battery capacity of the A87 Pro has doubled, and the battery life is better.

The A87 Pro has two versions, Sky Switch V3 and Zijin Switch Pro. The former is a linear switch, which is similar to a red switch, and the latter is a light segment switch, which is similar to a brown switch. The sky axis V3 adopts a semi-open fence design, the axis core is more stable, and the transparent sky blue upper cover has better light transmission. With a trigger pressure of 40+3gf, it feels lighter than C Red. The shaft body uses high-strength alloy springs, and gold-plated contacts are added to the shrapnel of the shaft body, which makes the hand feel more stable and has a design life of 80 million times. The shaft seat adopts hot-swappable design, compatible with three-pin and five-pin shaft bodies.

The large keys of the keyboard adopt the newly adjusted satellite axis of Dareu, which is more stable and coated with brand-new grease. The consistency of the feel is indeed good, and the rebound is relatively strong.

The keycap is made of PBT two-color injection molding keycap, the key wall thickness is medium, the nozzle is not large, and the burr is very clean. The keycap adopts a closed font, the position is centered and upper, and it is opaque.

This is the effect after replacing the space bar and arrow keys. Which one do you think looks better than the default color scheme?

The driver interface is quite simple, with a battery symbol on the top, showing the current remaining power. It should be mentioned here that the driver needs to be used in wired mode.

The driver is divided into four sections: key setting, macro editing, lighting setting, and temperament setting. Key setting can set system functions and multimedia functions for the keyboard. For example, I set the infrequently used SCRLK and PAUSE keys to increase and decrease the volume, which is more convenient than the FN combination key.

Lighting settings, built-in 7 lighting effects: drifting with the tide, shuttle back and forth, colorful springs, single on, single off, spectrum cycle, static constant light, you can customize the color, light brightness and sleep interval.

Rhythm lighting effect is taken out separately, you can set the rhythm color, background color, amplitude, background brightness, the default is green, yellow, red three colors.

The keycap is designed to be opaque, and the backlight mainly plays the role of atmosphere. When working, it can be set to a static constant brightness effect, which is a static drifting, RGB color gradient transition.

This is also a static lighting effect. Compared with the previous lighting effect, the light color is lighter.

Let's look at the dynamic lighting effect, which goes with the flow, also known as the magic color gradient and the number one lighting effect in RGB backlight.

The color spring surges, also known as the divergence of the illusion, and the color gradient transitions from the center of the keyboard to the surroundings, and the speed is a little faster, which is very visually impactful.

Finally, let’s have a rhythmic lighting effect. I randomly searched for a song in Netease Cloud. Do you have a visual sense of clicking on the music player?

The A87 Pro adopts a full-key no-click design, which can avoid key conflicts when operating games with multiple keys such as fighting and audition.

The typing feel has been introduced in the shaft part, the two words are "gentle", and the words for games are also two words "quiet". The fence-style Gasket structure of the A87 Pro is paired with the sky switch V3, and the sound is very small, which once made me think it was a silent switch. The feel of the sky axis V3 is also very good, the trigger is light, the large key rebounds strongly, and the operations such as walking, weapon switching, and jumping boxes are very smooth. For players who often use linear axes, it does not take time to adapt.

Before the release of the A87 Pro, Dareu has released the high-end flagship product A84 Pro, with an integrated all-aluminum alloy body, Gasket structure, equipped with a pickup and light control system, three-mode connection, and three kinds of Shen Shi Jin, White Peach Pink, and Flame Red. The color schemes are pretty good, but the price of 1299 is too strong. It is also a good choice to choose the A87 Pro whose price is less than half. Of course, it would be even better if there is an A84 Pro Lite, and the metal casing is replaced with a plastic casing, and the price can be more affordable. Conversely, will the A87 Pro come out with a metal case in the future, and what is the appropriate price? It's a bit far away, and finally I will briefly summarize the characteristics of Dareu A87 Pro Black King Kong, and put forward some suggestions of my own for your reference.
