Today, when the domestic switches are in full bloom, Cherry can launch a new switch, which is quite gratifying to many old players. I also bought the Cherry KC200 MX mechanical keyboard equipped with MX ERGO CLEAR jade switch for the first time to find out. .

The MX Ergo Clear jade axis is a custom axis for the DIY community, which can be traced back to 2011. At that time, a player named "mtl" released a modified white axis in the Geekhack community and named it "Ergo Clear". Roughly, the white shaft spring is replaced with a black shaft spring to reduce trigger and bottoming pressure; PTFE-based grease is applied to the spring and shaft to optimize smoothness and key sound. In the end, I got a paragraph switch between the white switch and the brown switch, with lighter pressure and no click sound of the green switch.

Since then, players have been calling for the official release of Ergo Clear. After many years, Cherry finally incorporated Ergo Clear into its Cherry MX product line. It is still divided into RGB and non-RGB versions, and there are also three-pin and five-pin versions. The KC200 MX is equipped with a non-RGB version of the MX Ergo Clear jade switch with a black casing.

The MX Ergo Clear jade switch is a very special paragraph switch, with a clear and strong sense of passage, but not as loud as the green switch. The trigger pressure of the shaft body is 40 grams, and the stage pressure is 55 grams. After that, the pressure in grams will continue to decrease. The trigger stroke is 2mm, and the total stroke is 4mm. The general feel is more inclined to the brown shaft.

In addition, according to Cherry's own statement, a high-quality high-performance grease is used to lubricate the shaft to ensure that the lubricating effect is effective for a long time. At the same time, low friction brings a smoother travel experience to ensure that the height of the shaft body is consistent. sex. The theoretical life of the shaft is still 50 million times.

Personally, I don’t really like paragraph switches with too weak a sense of paragraphs. I usually use either linear switches or Cherry MX blue switches. The Cherry MX Ergo Clear jade switch gives me a pretty good feeling. The trigger pressure is not so great, and there is a clear sense of passage. The most important thing is that it is not as loud as the green switch. It feels a bit astringent at first, but after two or three days of use, it becomes smoother and more comfortable.

After talking about the Cherry MX Ergo Clear jade switch, let’s take a brief look at this CHERRY KC200 MX mechanical keyboard. From the color splicing on the packaging, it can be inferred that the keyboard has three candy-colored colors. In fact, there is another caramel color with ABS laser-engraved keycaps, and the price is a little cheaper.

I chose the blue and white mint color scheme, and a strong fresh breeze rushed towards me. The keyboard adopts a 108-key layout, but the overall is relatively compact, and the distance between the F area and the main key area is very close; the function area/direction keys, the number area on the right and the main key area are not separated at all, so the keyboard size is larger than the conventional 104/108 The keypad is a little smaller.

The upper panel of the keyboard is made of aluminum alloy metal material with a matte surface, and the Logo above the arrow keys is treated with a bright surface process, which will have light and dark reflection effects from different angles.

This keyboard is positioned as an office series, and the suspension axis scheme makes the keyboard easier to manage. The keycap is a set of PBT ball caps. The front edge of the keyboard and the height of the ball cap are relatively low, so it can be used comfortably without a hand rest.

The biggest feature of the ball cap is that it is low in the middle and high around the perimeter. It looks round and full, and the contact area with the pads of the fingers is relatively larger. The keycap characters all use the centered large character design, with a hint of calmness in the fresh wind.

The surface of the PBT keycap has obvious graininess, but the graininess is not large, and the touch is very delicate. The two-color keycap can also ensure that the color of the characters is always new.

The nozzle position of the keycap is very clean, there is no burr, and there is no deformation problem on the large key position. The overall workmanship details are basically faultless.

The large key position of the satellite axis has obviously been adjusted, and the hand feel is very consistent. There may be a little noise occasionally on individual key positions, but it is not particularly obvious.

The bottom shell has a small design, it is not just a flat surface, but a nameplate sticker in the middle.

A one-piece foot support can provide more inclination options for the keyboard.

Compared with the design style of other Cherry keyboards, this CHERRY KC200 MX mechanical keyboard is the least Cherry keyboard. The design style has changed greatly, and a variety of candy colors has been added, which is simple but not simple, and can bring more vitality and color to the monotonous office desktop. In addition, the keyboard supports full key without punching, and there are drivers available for use with it. Of course, for me, the biggest significance of this keyboard is that I have experienced the Cherry MX Ergo Clear jade switch in depth. The price of the new switch body is consistent with the price of several conventional old switch bodies. This wave is not cutting leeks, not bad. !
