Tao Playing Keyboard Part 2: Understand these, so that you can choose the most intimate key switch for ta

Summary of the previous article: The previous article roughly introduced the general steps of building a customized keyboard. Today’s article is to introduce in detail how to choose a mechanical switch.

the As a gift, a mechanical keyboard tailored for him must make him feel your heart! So when choosing a keyboard component, you must know some of his little habits and hobbies. For example, does he usually type more or play more games? What color/shade do you like? How do you want him to use this keyboard? At home or in the office? Does ta like gentle and fresh style or cool cyberpunk? Wait... the more you know, the more helpful it is to impress ta.

Today I will talk about the choice of mechanical axis.

the Creation statement: The following content comes from the information I got through various channels and my own experience in buying shafts. It has no interest. If you have different opinions, please comment. I will accept it with an open mind (not necessarily change it).

The mechanical switch is the first thing we think of when we mention the mechanical keyboard. The switch body is the most important accessory part that affects the feel of the keys of the mechanical keyboard. There are probably hundreds of different types of switch bodies on the market now? According to the sound and feel, there are about 4 categories:

1. Voice axis; 2. Silent axis; 3. Linear axis; 4. Mute axis

Classification of mechanical axes

the The difference between the typing sounds of these shafts is : 1 is the crackling sound of the ballpoint pen cap being pressed; 2 is the sound of the mechanical pencil being pressed; 3 and 4 are the very light tapping sound of the plastic. If it is more extreme, the mahjong sound is also very popular in Xiaopozhan recently, adding spacers to the linear axis keyboard to achieve this effect.

the Summarize the current axis in one sentence : Except for the cherry tea shaft, other cherry shafts generally cannot beat domestic shafts. So if we choose the shaft now, we can skip the cherry and choose directly from domestic shafts such as Kaihua BOX shaft, TTC shaft, Jiadalong shaft, and Gaote shaft.

Before choosing a mechanical axis, we need to know what is the meaning of "trigger pressure" in the basic parameters of the axis body?

"Trigger pressure" is the pressure required to keep pressing the button down. It is usually measured in cN (centinewtons) or gf (gram force). Get used to it. For girls who type a lot or play games, it is best to choose a light pressure key switch of about 37g~45g.

The jade shaft I bought this time is this type ▼

Real shot of Kaihua BOX Jade

the 2.8 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 37gf . The sound is crisp and has a slight sense of paragraph. It can be triggered with a light touch, but it is not as easy to touch by mistake as the TTC gold powder linear axis. It is very suitable for long-term typing. Nothing wrong with it except it's expensive. ▼

TTC Jinlan shaft (brother shaft)

the 2.8 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 42gf The moon-white axis is a typical TTC axis . The TTC shaft is characterized by a sound-absorbing pad and a double-segment spring design, which has the characteristics of fast triggering, high smoothness, and obvious mute effect.

The Yuebai switch is different from the traditional green switch. It feels a bit like a tea switch when pressed. The "click" sound is not obvious, but there is a clear sense of advance. The rebound after pressing is much stronger than that of gold tea. The feel is similar to that of a membrane keyboard, but it does not lose the sense of mechanical switches when pressed hard. It is a more interesting and special key switch. ▼

TTC Moon White Axis

the 2.3 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 50gf . The Kaihua BOX axis is the axis that made me hesitate in choosing this time: it is characterized by the most stable axis among all domestically-made axes, the best waterproof and dustproof, but the sounding area uses the tortoise spring to produce sound, compared with the traditional dynamic and static film The sound is crisper, and the clicking sound similar to that of a ballpoint pen is louder...Kaihua BOX Jade is a typical representative of the Box axis. Compared with the paragraph enhanced version of the white axis, it feels super like a ballpoint pen, and it is super decompressed when pressed~ but the trigger force is stronger, and typing for a long time will make your hands tired. It is recommended to buy 5 pieces, and it is enough to put it on the up, down, left, and right keys.

P.s Originally, I thought about using the Jade switch for the space bar. Today, I tested it at the speed of light to persuade you to retreat. How can I describe it... It is the scene of smashing the space bar in the legendary Internet cafe playing Audition! Can you imagine? ▼

Real shot of Kaihua Box jade

the 1.5 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 45g , not as crisp as the Jinlan axis, but the axis is very stable without shaking, the dustproof and waterproof design is very cost-effective, and the user experience is very friendly. ▼

Kaihua Box White Axis

the 0.6 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 50±10gf , the quality is very average, easy to shake, but it is cheaper. The purpose of this collocation is to give priority to ensuring the typing experience of core keys and commonly used keys under a limited budget, and good steel is used wisely.

But few people would choose a noisy keyboard... right?

Tea-like switches can be regarded as silent paragraph switches, but in fact they still have a bit of sound. They are not as silent as silent switches, and there is no crackling sound of green switches. It can be said that it is the pressing force of red switches plus the slight step feeling similar to that of green switches. Synthetic axis, belonging to Universal switch, can take into account both gaming and typing . ——Just like a mechanical pencil, there is a "click" sound, but it is not obvious.

the 2.4 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 45gf . Although there is a sense of paragraph, it is weak. In the paragraph axis, the sound is very light, and it is linear. and out, factory, self, profit , the touch is more silky, silky and full. It is suitable for players like me who are too lazy to toss. After all, dismantling and applying grease one by one is a big project that tests patience...it is a ready-made one that saves trouble.

I took 30 pieces this time. If you only cover the core area, the price is still good. After the actual measurement, I would recommend taking 35 , in addition to the 26 letters, counting commas, periods, left-hand shift and ctrl, and the space key together will make the user experience better.

It is my favorite axis so far, I must give 2 pictures! ▼

TTC Golden Tea V3 real shot

Golden tea installation drawing

the 2.4 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 45gf . The tea switch can be said to be the most capable mechanical switch in Cherry at present, and it is also the first choice for many novices. It does not have the obvious spring sound like the green axis when pressed, the axis is also more stable, there is no obvious shaking feeling, and the rebound is also easy to follow.

the 0.9 yuan/piece , has been upgraded on the basis of the Gaote tea shaft. It is generally said that it feels much better than Jiadalong tea and Gaote tea. If you want to experience the tea switch at a reasonable price, the high-tech orange switch is a good choice. ▼

Gott Orange Axis

the 1.3 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 50gf . The tactile feel is similar to TTC Moon White, which is also advanced, but the buttons are looser and the texture is average. Can be used on edge keys. ▼

The color scheme is very similar to Iron Man's panda axis

The characteristic of the linear axis is that it goes straight up and down. This kind of axis is like being pressed on a spring. There is no sense of paragraph at all. The quick trigger feature is suitable for playing games.

the 3.9 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 45±5gf , The fast silver axis has short key travel, fast trigger and fast rebound, suitable for fast clicking and high-speed gaming. ▼

TTC fast silver shaft

the 3 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 37±5gf , The touch is light, and it can be triggered with a slight press. For players with heavy hands, there may be false touches in the initial use. After actual measurement, the edge buttons are also easy to touch accidentally. But after getting used to typing, it is very comfortable to type, and the gold powder switch is also the first choice of many novel authors. "The cotton candy-like feel is very silky, and the text will not affect the thinking" (the original words of an author).

The gold powder switch is also one of the mechanical switches I bought this time. The most expensive One... so I only need 10, and use them on the 1~10 number keys. ▼

TTC gold powder shaft second generation in kind

the 1.9 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 45±5gf . It is also a lazy shaft that is self-lubricating at the factory. The shaft has a dust-proof wall design that is stable and does not shake, and is cost-effective.

Jiadalong is similar to Goto, both of which are imitation cherry shafts. The feel is similar to cherry, but the price is relatively cheap. In recent years, several good shafts have been launched, such as Jiadalong G yellow pro and G white pro. , Tiffany, have a good reputation, self-lubricating at the factory, and a high degree of smoothness. The more obvious disadvantage is that the axis is a little wobbly.

the 3.6 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 53±5gf . The axle is stable and the trigger and rebound are smooth. This kind of black axis has a high pressing force, which is suitable for players with strong diamond fingers. ▼

ACE axis

the 0.8 yuan/piece , except that the sound is a little muffled, it is not much different from the red axis.

The structure of the mechanical switch prevents it from being completely muted, but can only reduce the sound. Therefore, the muted switch from my understanding is to sacrifice some feel (paragraphs disappear, the touch feels softer, and muscle weakness) to forcibly mute the sound.

the 4.3 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 37gf . The linear axis with light pressure and high rebound has an excellent mute effect. Except for a slight sound when it hits the bottom, there is almost no sound whether it is pressed down or rebounded. ▼

Ice Static Axis

Look at the official introduction to optimize the structure, Hardcore Mute! expensive ... well that's my problem. ▼

Ice Static Axis Structure

the 3.5 yuan/piece , the rebound is fast, the feel is smooth, and it is a silent switch similar to the feel of the red switch. Compared with the ice static shaft, the Mute Red V3 hits the bottom harder, and the rebound is a bit soft, not as dry as the ice static shaft, and the overall feeling is still good. ▼

TTC silent red V3

the 3.5 yuan/piece, trigger pressure 35gf . The main source of the sound is the weak rebound sound. In addition, the entire pressing process is almost silent, the trigger is smooth, the rebound is strong, the axis is stable without shaking, and there is no spring sound. Compared with the ice static shaft, it is a shaft that is very friendly to small wallets. ▼

Kaihua mute powder

the 1.2 yuan/piece, the trigger pressure is 35~40gf , Peach is slightly heavier. You need to moisten the keys when you get it (there are also many manual moistening in the seafood market and Pinxixi, and the price is not expensive), the rebound of the peaches is a bit soft, and the comfort is average. Lime has more sense of paragraph than peach. As a counting axis, the price/performance ratio is very good. I just took 40 (actually, it seems to have been factory-run), and I just got together a pair of 87-key Heiji snakes. ▼

Real shot of Gaote lime shaft

It can be seen from the previous article that I am more supportive of the "hybrid axis". The entire keyboard is divided into three major areas: the main key area, the secondary area and the edge area.

the Primary key area: Refers to commonly used keys, such as 26 letters, the space bar, the left Ctrl and Shift, and the right Enter key.

the Secondary area: 1~10 number keys, etc., will be used, but not so frequently used keys.

the Border area: Not commonly used, almost make up numbers, such as F key, HOME key and the like.

Some people may think that it is strange that the touch of multiple axes on a keyboard is different? In fact, it’s okay. First of all, the frequency of use of these sets of keycaps varies greatly. Who would pay attention to the occasional sound of a key when typing? Anyway, I won't. Furthermore, Although it is a mixed axis, the properties of the key axis are still similar , It’s not that one area uses a paragraph axis, and another adjacent area suddenly becomes a silent axis (like a sudden squib...), the sound and feel are just a little different.

I feel that I have adapted well. After all, after using a keyboard for a long time, the tactility of the commonly used keys and the edge area will be more or less different, and it is impossible for a beginner like me to ask a family member to give it to me once. If you buy a few keyboards to play, it is a more economical and practical way to split the axes in different regions.

But people like my family members who like to use shortcut keys can't accept a keyboard with N kinds of axes at all.

Attached is the assembly list I bought this time, just for reference~

Commonly used buttons (core area): TTC gold tea switch V3 —— silent step switch, with a sense of step, but not noisy.

Secondary area (up, down, left, and right): Kaihua BOX Jade (Jade axis) —— A voice paragraph axis, which is very decompressed like a ballpoint pen.

Secondary area (digital): TTC’s new version of gold powder — I just want to experience what is called “cotton candy-like typing feel”.

Edge buttons: Gotta Lime switch——Mute flat switch, just make up the numbers quietly.

—— In general, it is a combination of trying to keep the feel of the paragraph on the basis of typing quietly

Then, the most unscrupulous strategy in this series came. In addition to 26 letters, How do you know which keys are commonly used by you? Just use a keyboard membrane! The laptop I work on has always been covered with a keyboard film. You can know which keys are used more by looking at the wear and tear of the keyboard film.

The gift of the Qixi Festival is the heart. If the budget is sufficient, the whole keyboard can be equipped with the top. If the budget is a little short, you can also combine a keyboard that is the most convenient for him. When he uses it every day, he will think of you.

The keyboard I assembled this time
