There has been a long-standing controversy over the issue of "Is it necessary to use a keyboard film for a mechanical keyboard?" I wonder what is the habit of using keyboards? I am more used to adding a layer of transparent keyboard film on the keyboard. On the one hand, it is for anti-fouling (dust, snack crumbs, drinks, etc.), and on the other hand, I am used to the cushioning of the keyboard film. I type with heavy hands, especially some keys... To protect the keyboard and not to hurt my hands . As for whether adding a keyboard film will waste the feel of a mechanical keyboard... I personally think it’s okay. The current TPU keyboard film is not very thick, and it’s all cushioned anyway. I really don’t know the so-called “mahjong sound”. What is the difference between the pad inside the keyboard and the one with the keyboard film in my hand... probably because I am still a rookie.

Of course what we are discussing today is not the keyboard membrane. Isn't this a season change? People need more clothes, and the keyboard needs to be tidied up and changed. , Welcome to winter. Today is mainly to share my new keycaps, and by the way, the cleaning and maintenance of the keyboard.

The maintenance of the mechanical keyboard mainly includes the following three aspects:

1. Clean up the fine debris that fell into the keyboard, and remember to cover the keyboard with a cloth or bag when not in use. Dust has an important impact on mechanical switches. From the feedback of using the keyboard, the failure of the keys is caused by the accumulation of dust in the switch. . When cleaning, remove all the keycaps, brush what should be brushed, and wipe what should be wiped. The tools used are reported as follows, and similar products can also be prepared separately.

※ I personally do not recommend the so-called keyboard cleaning gel. The gel can only stick things on the surface of the keyboard. Usually, the notebook keyboard can be used casually. For mechanical keyboards, there are all dead corners under the keycaps, which cannot be cleaned at all.

2. Clean the keycaps. There is nothing too particular about the cleaning of the keycaps. ABS, which is oily, can be washed with a little shampoo mixed with water. For PBT, it can be washed directly with water. If there is a particularly dirty place, use a toothbrush or the like to gently brush it. If you are lazy, you can use an ultrasonic cleaner directly.

3. Lubricate (oil) the mechanical shaft. Just like a car engine, if you want to use the mechanical shaft longer and more smoothly, oiling and maintenance are indispensable. In fact, this is the most important step in the maintenance of mechanical shafts. However, the shafts I am currently using are all moisturized at the factory, and it has only been used for 2 months since August. It has not yet reached the point where oil needs to be replenished. This step is lazy and saves money. La.

This set of keycaps is OEM height, the keycaps are opaque, and only part of the letters are transparent. PBT two-color process, it feels smooth to the touch but not as slippery as ABS.

When I got it, it was in a cardboard box. There were 2 layers of plastic boxes with positioning inside. There were a total of 127 keys in a small set, which was considered to be the most conscientious among domestic keycaps. ▼

Because I bought a new kit in August, and it was not very violent when I used it, so it is still 99% new. After the keycaps are removed, I only need to clean up the floating dust that rarely floats in. ▼

Compared with the transparent keycaps of Shuangpi Nai, only the letters of the Darling keycaps are transparent, slowing down the speed of RGB, and the slow streamer also has its unique and low-key beauty. ▼

In terms of quality, this set of keycaps has some minor flaws, for example, the details of the spray paint on the reverse side are slightly worse. But it's not bad, as long as you can't see it from the front. ▼

In addition, I don't know if it's due to the material or luck, but the big keys in this set of keycaps make a particularly loud and empty reverberation after they are installed. Although this kit has one less shaft underpad than the wolf pie, the double leather milk keycap was used last time, and I didn't bother to remove it again. Continuing with Tao's little trick, I added a medical cotton ball to the keycap of the big key, and after pressing it again, it became much more normal. (After all, I really don’t want to use a screwdriver to modify it for the time being...) ▼
