The 4 "volumes" of the keyboard industry in 2022, Lei Kaze KW75 use evaluation

After playing with keyboards for several years, I found that the keyboard industry in 2022 is already super "volume".

I don’t know, have you noticed that the keyboards of domestic brands have become more and more attractive in recent years? The reason, personally, is that this is the result of market competition, that is, "volume". Humans are visual animals, and they all like beautiful things, and the keyboard is the same. The improvement of the aesthetics of the masses and the continuous competition among manufacturers, the products are getting better and better. This situation is actually happy to be seen, after all, it is most beneficial to consumers.

▲This is the keyboard and desktop photos I took a few days ago. Today, from the perspective of a keyboard (Lei Kaze’s KW75), Let me share with you how the mechanical keyboard of the domestic brand is rolled.

I suddenly discovered that this "Volume 1" is a pun. It is not only the first part of the article, but also points out the first point in the keyboard industry, that is, the price. In recent years, the configuration and price of the keyboard have gone in the opposite direction: the configuration is getting higher and higher, and the price is getting lower and lower. The keyboard that cost close to 1,000 yuan may now have a broken bone. If you don’t believe me, you can go to any e-commerce platform to have a look. Compared with the keyboards you bought a few years ago, you will probably have a deep understanding.

▲The original price of Lei Kaze’s KW75 that I bought was nearly 600. Before Double 11, the discount is already quite high. In the end, I bought it in the early 400s. I personally think it’s quite worth it.

▲You can search with the same keywords, such as Three key words of "three-mode mechanical keyboard 75" , look at the search results, basically between 400 and 600. Lei Kaze's keyboard is considered to be cost-effective. Of course, the price cannot be discussed regardless of the configuration. We will talk about the specific configuration performance later.

▲4 keyboard indicators, corresponding to the current connection mode (USB wireless, Bluetooth and wired).

With the involution, the technology of the previous high-priced keyboards has also begun to be transferred to the middle and low-end keyboards, such as three-mode, RGB, high-specification switches and so on. On many keyboards, we can see many "masters", such as Lei Kaze's KW75 is one of them.

▲Type C port wired connection, switch key for system and connection mode.

First of all, the most powerful and practical is the three-mode function. What are the "three models"? It refers to support 1.USB wireless, 2.Bluetooth wireless and 3.wired connection, a total of 3 modes. Think about it a few years ago, how could there be such complete and powerful functions? In the past, it was generally dual-mode, and Bluetooth and USB wireless often did not appear at the same time.

▲ Lei Kaze’s KW75 supports three-mode connection, and there is a switch button behind the keyboard to switch at will. The wired connection is a universal Type C port, which is very practical. The USB wireless receiver can be specially stored on the right side of the keyboard, so it will not be lost easily.

If you were to pick a keyboard, which configuration would you choose? It's my words, mentioned above Three-mode, PBT keycaps, RGB lighting, Mac mode, favorite switch body, and shape and color matching my own aesthetics, these 6 elements are what I will definitely consider.

Lei Kaze KW75 basically meets my standards, and it just so happens that it has them all! Of course, if you still want to pursue a metal frame, more complete accessories, more powerful software support, etc., that is another cost. If the budget is sufficient, you can look for it further.

▲Hot-swappable design, you can replace the shaft body you like.

There are many types of switches for mechanical keycaps, from entry-level to fever-reducing, from green switches to red switches, at least a dozen of them can be played. I chose the Jiadalong G Yellow Switch Pro for the Leikaze KW75 keyboard.

▲The feeling of this switch belongs to the linear type. In layman's terms, it has no sense of paragraphs. It is straight up and down. It is actually a bit similar to the feel of a tea switch or a red switch, but it is relatively lighter without losing rhythm. I personally characterize it as The "omnivorous" shaft is suitable for most people.

▲In my opinion, Whether a keyboard is good-looking or not is mainly divided into two aspects, one is the design of the main body of the keyboard , For example, is its design style retro with sentimentality, simple in office, or dynamic in competition? This all determines whether the appearance of this keyboard is pleasing to "you". On the other hand, it is the design of the keycap, whether the shape of the key is round, square or square with R corners ? Is the color consistent with the style of the keyboard itself? I don't know if everyone agrees with my above point of view.

▲And the appearance of this Leikaze KW75 keyboard is based on my aesthetics. I think its keyboard body is generally a simple style design, the whole body is white, without too many fancy designs. I like this white color very much. Although it is made of ABS, but the kind of hard plastic with high density, I thought it was metal at first glance.

▲The keycaps are made of PBT material. Compared with the ABS material of ordinary keyboards in our company, PBT keycaps are not easy to be greasy and feel better. The set of keycaps I chose is honey milk theme, do you think it looks good?

▲In addition, there are other themes, such as Gundam, soy milk, and plastic themes. To be honest, I want them all! But ability is limited, can only choose one. Of course, you can buy it later. There are intervals between the character area, F key area, and direction key area, giving people a sense of order, which I personally like. The metal knob in the upper right corner is also very textured, and the shape is simple, which will not make people feel obtrusive.

▲Under the RGB light, different light colors, flowing lights, and different light effects are beautiful. Especially at night, the Leikaze KW75 keyboard looks very nice.

▲However, I think RGB lighting is the icing on the cake. It is easy to get tired of it after watching it for a long time. You should choose according to your own needs. As far as I am concerned, the RGB lighting can add a lot to the appearance, I don't have to turn it off, but I can't live without it. One thing is quite good, if you do not press the keyboard for a long time, the light will automatically turn off, saving power.

▲Semi-customized keyboards like the Lei Kaze KW75 keyboard, the assembly process itself is a kind of joy (maybe this is why this keyboard is called KW75, KW is the initial letter of "playable" pinyin, 75 means relative 75% the size of a full-size keyboard). This kind of happiness is a bit like building blocks, combining the keycaps one by one. The happiness of a man is really simple.

▲ Lei Kaze’s keyboard itself supports hot-swapping, and you can change the switch at will. If you like other switches, no problem, just replace them. If you like other keycaps, no problem, arrange it. This is also the reason why I recommend customized keyboards, which are more playable and lower the cost of subsequent entry.

▲Sometimes I think about the meaning of buying a good keyboard, and the conclusion I get is: the keyboard is the medium connecting us humans and computers, so a good keyboard is important for users, and typing is more enjoyable , work efficiency will be higher. Lei Kaze has been using this KW75 keyboard recently, and the more I use it, the more I like it. The appearance is good-looking, and the PBT material keycap makes the hand feel comfortable. With the Jiadalong G yellow Pro switch body, no matter how fast you type, it will not conflict.

▲Win and Mac systems are common, one-key switch, it saves some trouble, no need to change the modifier keys in the computer settings (Other keyboard settings Option and Command are interchangeable), very friendly to Mac users, nice . As for the "light pollution" RGB, I often turn it off, and occasionally turn it on to enjoy it, and I feel pretty good. With 40mah of electricity, the battery life of the keyboard is not bad, and it should be no problem for a month of normal use.

The above is what Binbin shared with you about "how to roll in the keyboard world" and the experience of Lei Kaze KW75 keyboard.

Thank you for reading, I wish you a happy life! Binbin is so polite!
