Recently, VGN released a brand new mechanical keyboard: N75, the initial price went directly to 99 yuan.

Looking at the price alone, it has smashed the market. Who would have thought that a keyboard with a 75 column and a knob could be so cheap.

What I got this time is the 99 yuan N75 entry-level version and the 159 yuan N75 Symphony version.

As the first batch of authors to get the keyboard, I did not choose to go to the heat of the first issue the day after I received the keyboard. Although I can give an accurate evaluation of the product from the "experience" I have played with so many keyboards before.

Because I know that a product cannot be drawn to a simple conclusion based on the first impression in just one or two days.

Since this week, I have been using the 99 yuan entry-level version and the 159 yuan phantom color version alternately. The following should give you an accurate purchase reference.

There is not much difference in the appearance of the two keyboards, it is a matter of the color of the keycap material.

The entry-level version uses two-color injection-molded light-transmitting ABS keycaps with OED height, the shaft body is high-tech green shaft, and the sandwich pad is made of hard EVA material.

The Symphony version is a PBT keycap with MDA height, the shaft body is a power silver shaft customized by VGN, and the sandwich pad is Poron cotton.

In the past few days, the more I use it, the more I feel that the entry version of 99 yuan is just a price anchor.

Because whether it is the feel of the shaft body, the sound performance or the overall workmanship, it is very different from the magic version with a price difference of 60 yuan.

To give a very simple example, the metal knob in the upper right corner of the 99 yuan entry-level version will shake and be unstable when it is toggled. Although the 159 yuan magic version also shakes a little, it is tighter than the 99 yuan version.

In fact, in terms of keyboard quality alone, the entry-level version is also a good keyboard at a price of 100 yuan, but it is a pity that the big brother above stole the limelight.

Different people have different opinions on the feel of the switch body, but what I want to say is that the quality of the switch body of these two keyboards is not very good, and it can only be said to match the 100 yuan segment very well.

The feel of the high-tech green switch is just like that of an Internet cafe's green switch keyboard, which is hard, crisp, loose, and strong enough. If you want to reminisce about the feeling of childhood Internet cafes or think that mechanical keyboards should be crisp paragraph switches, then you will love this switch very much.

The power silver switch is actually VGN’s custom-made switch body. The feel is quite satisfactory. The standard feel of the short-trigger linear switch is not too prominent. Because of the height of the MDA keycap, the change in the feel of the shaft is more perceivable.

The workmanship of the keycaps is the biggest upgrade point this time. The keycaps of the V98 made me complain a lot last time, and this time I finally changed them.

Whether it is the ABS keycap of the entry model or the PBT keycap of the Symphony version, the workmanship quality is much better than that of the last V98.

The only downside is that the color of the PBT keycaps of the Symphony version is a bit light, no matter how you look at it, it looks like there is a layer of dirt on it.

The keyboard PCB is clamped by two pieces of silicone on the top cover and the bottom cover, so it is also a kind of silicone gas.

The sound performance of the entry-level version is not ideal, because of the shaft body, the whole keyboard is a spring sound maker, which is particularly obvious as you tap.

The Symphony Edition will continue to maintain the consistent level of VGN. Whatever the V98Pro is, the N75 Symphony Edition will be.

The main controller of the keyboard is from Weisheng Semiconductor, the model is VS11K03A. Since this is not a wireless version, there is no wireless IC and power management chip on the PCB.

In general, buying this keyboard at the price of 100 yuan cannot be said to be worth the money, but it is definitely worth the money.

N75 entry-level version is used as a price strategy for new product promotion. The price of 99 yuan is indeed amazing enough, but the real cost-effective version should be the Symphony version.

In addition to the price, the Symphony Edition is significantly better than the entry-level version in all aspects. In my opinion, it is a more worthwhile choice.

But if you only have a budget of 100 yuan, the entry-level version is also a good choice. If you can add 60 yuan to buy the illusion version, the user experience will be greatly improved.
