Hello everyone, I am Taotie
I must preface this by stating that I am a linear axis fan and have a preference for straight up and down.
However, when I met this switch body today, I suddenly found the long-lost excitement and happiness, and the crisp feeling of "crack, slap, slap" that is unique to mechanical keyboards has returned.
With the development of the times, most players are now pursuing the smoothness and stability of the linear axis, and even have the habit of Hifi axis. The sounds of mahjong, water drops, and wooden fish after running the shaft, in my opinion, are not as exciting and satisfying as the "click, click" of pressing a ballpoint pen. However, because the sound is too loud and disturbing to the people around, coupled with the influence of the occasional stinky axis of the cherry green axis, the category of this strong segment has gradually declined.
However, there is one brand among them that has been quietly cultivating this category, and has continued its crisp feeling.
That's right, I think everyone has guessed it, this is Kaihua's Box axis, and the axis I tested this time is their latest Box axis - Zhixia axis.
This Zhixia switch uses a color transparent shell, combined with the unique square core of the Box switch, which makes it look crystal clear and pleasing to the eye.
Disassemble the shaft body and you can see that its interior is still Kaihua’s classic Box structure, that is, the sound unit and the trigger unit are independent, each performing its own duties.
Both the bottom shell and the top cover of the shaft body are made of PC material, which is strong and transparent.
What's interesting is that the dust cover on the trigger unit is also made of transparent material, so the whole triggering process can be seen at a glance.
The shaft core of this shaft body is made of POM material and self-lubricated.
The spring is 2mm longer than before, so the force is more uniform and the rebound is stronger.
The appearance introduction is almost the same, let's take a look at the basic data of this Kaihua Zhixia axis.
Operating force: 50gf±15gf
Trigger force: 55gf±15gf
Bottom force: 53gf
Conduction stroke: 1.8±0.4mm
Total stroke: 3.8±0.3mm
Resilience: >15gf
Service life: 80 million times
It can be seen from the data that the trigger force of this Zhixia axis 50gf is not small, and it is more tenacious in the initial stage, coupled with good resilience, it gives a stronger sense of confirmation and firmness to the percussion.
But at the same time, it can also be seen from the bottoming force of 53gf that the shaft body is very smooth and balanced throughout the pressing process. Compared with the bottoming force of the cherry green shaft 60gf, this shaft body will not appear the feeling that the more you use it, the heavier it becomes.
Now that the switches are here, it would be a pity not to assemble a keyboard to try the feel.
Then this time the collocation is still the classic 60% hull structure, the shell is ALF DC60 NFS, the geek moves the hot-swappable PCB to the left, the toad white transparent satellite axis, and the stainless steel positioning plate to the left.
In order to show the most original sound, no noise reduction measures were added during the assembly process.
During the assembly process, I don’t know if it’s my positioning plate or what’s the reason, the shaft body is stuck on it and it’s hard to press down. So later I simply changed it to a steel-free structure. After all, the shaft body is a five-pin shaft, and it is relatively stable to be directly inserted into the PCB.
I have to say that the appearance of this Kaihua Zhixia axis is still very high, and the rows are even beautiful.
I chose the 2048 sublimation PBT material for the keycap, which will be relatively harder to hit.
Finally, test the typing sound and listen to how the sound of this shaft performs. (Assembly keyboard without any noise reduction measures)
It can be said that in the category of strong paragraphs like green switches, there are really too few new switches to choose from. If it weren’t for Kaihua’s continued from the Box White switch to this day, it is estimated that no manufacturer would be willing to continue. .
Speaking of this Zhixia switch, compared with the hysteresis of the previous Box White, the new switch maintains proper tightness and rebound through the adjustment of the spring, which improves the feel and confirmation of the switch, and The brand-new PC color transparent casing is matched with the POM shaft core, which makes this shaft body achieve an excellent level in terms of appearance and feel. Now the pre-sale price of this shaft on the official website is 2.6 yuan per piece. Compared with other customized shafts, this price is considered a reasonable range.
So if you like the refreshing feeling of "click, click" like green switches, you must not miss this Kaihua Zhixia switch.
