Hello everyone, I am Bird Terminator.
In recent years, there have been some interesting and innovative designs in the mechanical keyboard market, making people overwhelmed and peripheral enthusiasts ecstatic. Among them, hot-swapping is gradually becoming the mainstream, and the three-mode is becoming more and more mature. In terms of configuration, everyone has different needs. How about adding appearance? Seeing the new 78 series three-mode hot-swappable mechanical keyboard released by Xingui, let me share it with you.
When I was young, I always felt that black was a lifetime thing, but now that I am older, I prefer brighter colors more and more. This model has GM980 with 98 configuration and GM780 with 75 configuration. I don't know why 75 and 780 are not compatible.
There are currently three color schemes, and the one I purchased is called Wushan. To say that the most eye-catching is the scorching sun with a yellow background hitting the black, and the most vivid is the half-blue and half-black stars, but recently I want to get a set that is more pink.
In terms of accessories, a USB-A to Type-C charging and data dual-use cable, 4 replacement shafts, 5 pink personalized keycaps, and a double-headed cap and key puller.
Seeing this arrangement, you will know why you chose it. The traditional 87 configuration does not have a small keyboard, and it is still inconvenient to use sometimes. The upstart GM780 retains the small keyboard, and other keys that are not commonly used are realized through the Fn combination key, which will be more practical for users who need to use the small keyboard.
As for the keycaps, the two-color injection-molded PBT keycaps with the height of the original factory are used, which is quite expensive, and the durability and feel are very good.
In terms of hot-swapping, the current mainstream has two types: 5-pin and 3-pin. The two types of pins given here are compatible. Basically, more than 99% of the hot-swapping shafts on the market can be used.
The one I picked is the Kaihua BOX white switch, the actual feel is closer to the original green switch, the total stroke is 3.6mm, the trigger stroke is 1.8mm, the pressure is 45g, and the paragraph switch is lighter and faster overall, and it is easy to type. It will be more refreshing.
Regarding the 2.4G wireless receiver, the upstart GM780 is cleverly hidden behind it, and it is magnetically attracted and covered with a metal nameplate, which is very design sense.
The foot support at the bottom is also given two sections to adapt to the different usage habits of more users.
Since the height of the keycaps is consistent with the original factory, players can also easily replace the keycaps they like.
In the upper right corner of the keyboard, this circular button is the switching button for Windows and Mac, which is very useful for dual repair users. Type-C charging data port, wireless power supply, and three-mode switching switches are also arranged here. The entire keyboard adopts the Gasket structure, which provides a purer percussion sound and a more consistent key feel, and the transparent shell is also very high-value.
Swap on the pink replacement keycaps and get ready to go.
Specifically, the lighting effect of this keyboard is quite good, the brightness is moderate, and the RGB color is transparent and pleasing to the eye. It is very convenient to control the lighting and realize other function keys through the Fn combination key.
In the driver, we can further personalize the lighting through the visual interface, such as setting specific RGB values and so on.
There are many good-looking schemes in it. I always feel that it is a loss if the full-color RGB does not light up and move together haha.
For each key on the keyboard, other functions can be assigned through the driver. It would be even better if the Fn key combination could also do some assignments.
In terms of macro functions, it supports custom recording including delay and assigns it to any key.
Finally, the light effect dancing with the system music is isolated, which is really beautiful.
As shown above.
Generally speaking, because the upstart GM780 retains the number area, it will be more practical for people in need than ordinary small-array keyboards. The transparent shell, nameplate storage receiver, Win/Mac one-key switching and other designs are indeed quite unique. The entire keyboard configuration is full, the feel is good, and the cost performance is quite high.
Thank you for watching, friends who like it, please like and follow, see you next time.
