TTC recently released the new flame purple and flame snow switches in the flame series. The parameters of the two switches are exactly the same, but there are some differences in the color and light guide characteristics of the switch. In what scenarios will these differences be used? The flame purple axis adopts the scheme of the light guide column, while the flame snow axis adopts the scheme of the convex lens on the upper cover.

The light of the flame purple axis passes through the light guide column with a better sense of brightness balance, while the convex lens light of the flame snow axis is more converging.

The shell of the flame purple axis is made of purple light-transmitting PC material, and the axis is made of purple POK material. The sense of rhythm will also be stronger. The flame purple switch adopts the light transmission scheme of the light guide bar, but not all keyboards are compatible with the existence of the light guide bar. TTC flame purple switch is a linear switch body, the total travel of the shaft is 3.6mm, the trigger travel is 1.6mm, the trigger pressure is 42gf, and the key life can reach 100 million times. From the parameter point of view, this is a combination of the gold powder switch and the fast silver switch, which averages the parameters of the two switches, but the center part of the shaft adopts the same pointed design as the fast silver switch. The axis is lubricated before leaving the factory, so the smoothness of the up and down of the keys will be very good. The bottoming performance of the pointed axis is sonorous and powerful, so the knocking sound will appear louder, and the rhythm of text input is well controlled. .

The shell of the flame snow axis is made of transparent PC material, and the axis is made of white POK material. The sense of rhythm will also be stronger. The flame snow axis adopts the light transmission scheme of the convex lens, so that it can be compatible with the situation that some lamp beads are soldered on the front of the PCB. Compared with the scheme of the flame purple axis light guide column, the light balance of the convex lens will be worse.

Comparison of parameters of various TTC shafts

In addition, some mechanical keyboards have the problem of poor switch compatibility. The first thing I saw was Corsair K70 PRO MINI WIRELESS. This keyboard supports hot-swapping but does not support 5-pin switches and switches with light guide columns, even non-RGB ones. Cherry shafts are also not compatible.

The second is the TT Navigator C360 three-mode mechanical keyboard that I am currently using. This keyboard does not support the 5-pin axis and the axis body with the light guide column. From the mark on the PCB, it can be seen that the hole should be considered. Compatible with the 5-pin shaft solution, but in the end it may be that the hole is not processed due to cost considerations. Therefore, there is no way to install and use the flame purple switch normally on these two keyboards, unless you manually remove all the light guide columns. This kind of troublesome operation is not as good as directly using the flame snow switch.
