Continuing from the previous situation, I found myself in need of a new monitor for my home office in Zhengzhou, as I can only use it when I retrieve my Logitech K220 keyboard there. Unfortunately, due to repeated delays, I had no choice but to purchase a new monitor. In my search, I considered several factors: 1) Logitech brand, 2) Wireless, 3) Youlian, as pure Bluetooth had poor anti-interference capabilities, 4) Mobile phone stand included, 5) Full size but not too large, and 6) A mute option for the home office.

Its appearance is spotless, with a simple white and gray combination that I personally adore. The key feel is slightly firmer than a standard notebook keyboard, but after a brief adjustment period, it becomes much more comfortable. The arrow keys may be a bit tight, but they are acceptable. Furthermore, the top row features two gray buttons that facilitate device switching. I connect to my computer using Unified technology and to my mobile phone via Bluetooth, and these buttons allow me to effortlessly switch between the two.

One aspect to consider is that the slot of the mobile phone bracket is quite narrow, making it uncomfortable to position a OnePlus 9 Pro with a cover at a suitable angle. Even without a cover, the angle is still less than optimal. Those who prioritize this feature might want to take note.

The top function buttons include desktop, task view (win+tab interface), back, win search, media control, and volume control by default. When pressing Fn together with these buttons, they become F1, F2, F3, etc. Nevertheless, these settings can be adjusted. In Logi Options+, it is possible to switch to the default F1, F2, F3, and F4, while pressing Fn along with them activates desktop, Logi Options driver interface, return, win search, media control, and volume control. Additionally, Fn+Esc can be used to switch quickly.

The functions of these buttons are customizable, and the standard function keys can also be toggled. As for the mute feature, it is sufficient for me to work quietly at night without disturbing my family.

Connecting the keyboard to a second device, such as a mobile phone, is simple. By pressing and holding the second gray button until the indicator light flashes rapidly, the keyboard enters pairing mode. Then, using the mobile phone's Bluetooth settings, I search for devices and connect to the one named [Logi K580 Keyboard]. The pairing code pops up, and I can enter it using the keyboard followed by the Enter key.

When connected to a mobile phone, the typing experience is seamless and smooth. The advantages of the Logitech K580 keyboard include its full-size layout, which meets all my home office and future office needs, especially for tasks such as creating tables. Its silent operation closely resembles that of my laptop keyboard. With two AAA batteries, it boasts a battery life of at least half a year, surpassing the shorter lifespan of keyboards that require frequent charging. Additionally, it provides a low battery reminder, and since both my keyboard and mouse rely on batteries, I always have some reserves on hand.

The keyboard supports the connection of two devices and allows for instant switching, a feature that satisfies my requirements. Moreover, choosing a model that supports Unified functionality is essential not only due to its low latency and reduced interference but also because it allows for sharing the receiver with the mouse. For a notebook with limited USB ports, reserving one for mobile phone data transfer is necessary, and using a docking station is a basic courtesy for a simple desktop setup. Despite not being overly lightweight, the keyboard is thin and highly portable, making it suitable for future business trips.

While there are a couple of drawbacks to consider, such as the narrow and somewhat outdated mobile phone bracket slot, which fails to accommodate the larger sizes of new mobile phones in 2022, I suggest that Logitech release a new model or a separate cover that can be purchased for replacement. Additionally, due to the legacy of notebook keyboards, pressing and holding the lower part of the ← key may not always elicit a response on the K580. However, this minor issue can easily be overcome by adjusting one's typing habits.

It's a scaled-down version of the SteelSeries Apex 3, one of the few non-mechanical gaming keyboards in the TenKeyLess size, and since it doesn't have a keypad, it allows for extra room on the desk to move the mouse around. It’s also IP32 certified, which means you don’t have to worry about spilling it on your keyboard while watching a movie while drinking water. All keys are macro-programmable via the new SteelSeries GG software, and it has RGB backlighting, but instead of each key being individually backlit, it's divided into several zones.

The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is perfect for gaming. The keys are fairly light to press, but have a long pre-travel distance. All keys are macro-programmable and feature RGB backlighting. Latency is high for competitive gamers though, but should be fine for casual gamers.

The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is a purely wired keyboard, not intended for use with mobile devices.

SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is perfect for office use. The keys are stable, and the membrane keys offer good typing quality and tactile feedback. The ABS keycaps are slippery to the touch and there is no wrist rest, but you won't feel too tired after typing for a long time. Also, it's wired, so you can't connect mobile devices.

SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is suitable for programming. You can reprogram and macro any key, and it has decent typing quality thanks to the keys. Its ergonomics are not bad, as it lacks a wrist rest. It's still usable in low light because it has RGB backlighting, but it's zone lighting and only has eight customizable zones.

The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL has a poor experience with a home theater PC setup, it was not designed for this purpose. It's wired, so you have to connect it directly to your TV, and it doesn't have a trackpad, the only downside might be RGB backlighting and dedicated media keys.
