After using the Logitech G610 mechanical keyboard for a while, the tuning wheel in the multimedia control area is my most used and favorite function. With frequent keyboard changes, not every keyboard has this quick volume control feature. Since the volume of each software, webpage, and game is different, I have been looking for a perfect quick volume adjustment solution in order not to disturb my family's rest at night. (After this, it is necessary to introduce it separately. The various solutions that came to mind during the tossing process are for your reference.)
Here is a set of solutions currently purchased: Ezyezll Frankenstein MK.5 mechanical keyboard kit.

This kit has just been assembled, and it was introduced in the previous introduction of Desktop 3.0, and now it is here to fill in the holes.
I bought 2 packs
MK.5 finished product package: PCBA circuit board *1, positioning board *1, shell kit *1, wire *1 other accessories package *1
No.0002 expansion package: connecting strip*1, PCBA circuit board*7, positioning board*1, shell*1 knob cap*1, other accessories*1
2 packs of TTC characteristic mechanical switches
The included A to C data cable with a braided cable is more than enough in length.
Circuit board front and base plate back: The circuit board also has platinum paint and MK.5 logo. The positioning board has fine workmanship and no burrs, and the texture is very good.
The back of the circuit board and the front of the floor: the shaft seat assembly and the RGB lighting assembly can be seen on the back of the circuit board. There are metal logos of MK.5 and Frankenstein on the front of the positioning plate.
The shell kit of MK.5 is 3D printed by Boss. It is made of cornstarch PLA material. Personally, it feels like plastic to the touch. Boss claims that it is a green and degradable material. A little burr, no metal positioning board and circuit board work well.
The No.0002 expansion kit includes: circuit board, positioning board, connecting wires to the main body MK.5 components, brass fasteners, plastic bottom pads and 2 plastic adjustment knobs.
Firstly, the satellite shafts with 2 large keys are installed. The fool-proof design can be installed directly by pressing on the circuit board.
Flip the circuit board and directly fix the satellite axis with 4 copper screws
Turn the circuit board over again, and install the positioning board on the front.
By the way, I bought the TTC special mechanical shaft body. I have never used a TTC shaft. By the way, I will use it as a shaft tester. Anyway, the hot-swappable design is very convenient to change the shaft. It is said that I will choose a custom keycap of "what is worth buying" at any time, and it should work well.
A single MK.5 keypad has quite a lot of functions. I only told the above function map after I asked the boss. It is definitely necessary to be familiar with and memorize. After all, the keycaps need to be matched later, and there must be no functional signs on the keycaps that you match.
A total of 4 functional changes, jump to the functional layer by pressing the big key on the left and the 4 5 combinations of line and surface 0-3.
Basic layer: delete, copy, paste, space, carriage return
Multimedia layer: volume increase and decrease, song switching before and after, mute
Light layer: light switch, brightness, light mode
Shortcut key layer: Delete, Calculator, Mailbox, My Computer, Refresh
because I also bought
The No.0002 expansion pack combination is mainly used to adjust the volume. All MK.5 function layers are generally set in the shortcut key layer. It is very convenient to open the calculator, my computer, and refresh the interface at ordinary times.
Although the MK.5 body has the function of adjusting the volume, I still feel that the knob is more convenient, and the button must be pressed at a high frequency to adjust the volume to a large extent. It's a pity that this No.0002 expansion package can only be used with the MK.5 body, otherwise I will directly buy this knob adjustment module alone.
The No.0002 expansion pack is easier to assemble and basically has nothing. Screw on the 3 positioning copper posts, and plug in a flat cable.
No.0002 Expansion Pack Positioning Board
Cover the positioning plate, screw on three screws, and bend the cable slightly towards the slot on the MK.5 body.
The 3D printed base is the same as the MK.5 body, without circuit boards and positioning boards.
Put the No.0002 expansion pack into the base, lead out the cable from the side opening, and fix it with 3 copper screws.
Secure a small strip of 3D printed connector with 2 copper screws.
Connect the cable of the No.0002 expansion pack to the main body of MK.5.
The main body and the No.0002 expansion pack are fixed with 2 copper screws at the bottom, and the attached heightening rubber pads are pasted on the 4 sides.
The positive effect after the fit is not provided with a matching keycap.
The 2 attached plastic knobs of the No.0002 expansion pack have different sizes, but the size of the mounting holes is the same, and you can choose the left and right positions by yourself. The plastic material is almost meaningless, and you should find a better-looking metal knob to replace it later.
The keycaps are temporarily used as extra keycaps from the Apocalypse at the height of XDA that I bought before. The vertical "ENTER" key position is actually more suitable to match the "7" type enter keycap. You can not have it at hand. I saw that ordinary keycap bags rarely have such keycaps. But now that the "MK.5" logo is exposed, it looks okay.
Connected to the computer and ready to use the No.0002 expansion pack, but when it didn’t respond, I thought I had installed it wrong. Later, I asked the boss, it turned out that I still need to flash a firmware.
This No.00002 accessory has 2 knobs on the left, which is the preset computer volume adjustment, and the one on the right supports Microsoft’s Surface Dial function, which I have never heard of before. After I got it, I searched and found that this actual Microsoft Surface Dial device is indeed very powerful. I can only say that the function of the Surface Dial of the No. 00002 knob has been castrated.
Web page
This is the interface for exhaling Surface Dial from the web interface. The interface for exhaling Surface Dial from different software will vary according to the functions of the software.
As shown in the figure above, after pressing the knob on the web page to exhale, you can rotate the knob to select "volume, page turning, zoom, and recall functions". After pressing the selected function, you can quickly adjust the selected function through the knob, such as adjusting the volume of the webpage; Browse up and down the webpage by sliding the scroll wheel; zoom the webpage size, etc. In the drawing tool, you can adjust the color depth, brush size, transparency and other functions. It can only be said that this built-in function is still very interesting. It probably restores most of the functions of the Surface Dial. It is not necessary to modify the function of this knob through software later.
Generally speaking, the entire kit of this MK.5 meets my current needs for adjusting the volume on the desktop. The overall workmanship is not bad and it can also be used as a small accessory for the table.
The overall assembly is not difficult, and everything can be done quickly with a screwdriver.
The shortcut key functions are also very practical, and individual keys can be reset through software, and the onboard memory replacement device does not need to be driven and reset.
The hot-swappable design is also good as a shaft tester.
The power socket is on the left, and if it is placed on the right side of the keyboard, there will be a large gap with the keyboard. The end of the wire may be replaced with a more suitable point of L shape.
It is also an investment that you need to equip the keycaps yourself later. The big key on the right is equipped with a "7" type enter key as standard. In fact, there are very few general keycaps.
The appearance and texture of the standard plastic knobs are mediocre. It is better to replace the metal ones yourself in the later stage. Fortunately, many of these knobs are not expensive online.
The matching effect is not bad
