Once the box is up, with the open part facing you, you will be able to put the cover on. Believe me, the mouse will be too scared to try and get out. (A rat would be different.) Then just carry the box outside, put it on the ground, take off the lid and turn the open box sideways. (If you are too scared to stay nearby after that, just walk away and watch.) At first the mouse will hesitantly leave the edge of the box, but once he realizes he's free, he will run, and away from you, not towards you! Just remember, do not be afraid of it, and good luck!
