Ok, on the bottom you should be able to twist the bottom off so you can remove the ball. Then you will see two rollers and some gunk will have built up on it where the ball hits it. Scrape off the gunk with a knife or something and then replace the ball. The gunk makes it so the ball will slip and then the mouse wo not recognize all of your movements.

that button commonly breaks in computer mice so its more then likely something has gone wrong inside the mouse maybe food or something was dropped inside of it? i would suggest getting a new mouse

Try unplugging the mouse from the usb port and then blow the into the usb adapter. If there is dust in it it will go away. Keep it out for at least 10 minutes than plug it back in. If you have a wireless mouse do the same with the signal adapter that you plug into the usb port.

Wi-Fi may pose a problem, but you can still find dead zones even for that. Also, controlling the mouse? That is the stupidest hacker ever. Everything good gets done with the keyboard! Add: I had an old laptop, it never got the net, but it's cursor moved around if I got too close to the pad. Laptops are funny that way, just try to learn how it works and do not gather a static charge. (that makes it worse)

Uh, wow. I've never had a mouse break from use, ever. Maybe click less hard? If you are wearing out your mouse because you are a gamer, you may want to try a high-end gaming mouse, some of those are made with stronger materials, I guess
