Nursing a wild mouse back to health ANSWERS QUICK!!!!...?

Does not sound very promising I am afraid, mice do not usually survive when they are this ill/injured. The stress alone can finish them off. Still, it might be alright! I do not think it would be a great idea to keep the mouse if it gets better I am afraid - wild mice do not do well in human company, it will just be scared and stressed all the time. It would be better to release it back where you found if it gets better. If you have a heat pad or a hot water bottle, put it in the box with a towel completey covering it, with the woodshavings on top. Small animals need to be kept warm. Hamster food is fine for now. It's best to keep the mouse by iteself in the dark, it will be more likely to calm down this way. You could take the mouse to the vet for better advice, if the mouse makes it through the night it might be worth trying it on some meds. Good luck, but do not get your hopes up! Chalice

R2d2 (mouse gene)

R2d2 is a mouse gene that is sometimes a selfish gene. R2d2 is short for "Responder to meiotic drive 2", It was discovered by UNC School of Medicine researchers to display transmission bias. R2d2 is a stretch of DNA on mouse chromosome 2 that contains multiple copies of the Cwc22 gene. When seven or more copies of that latter gene are present, R2d2 becomes selfish. In one lab breeding population, in a selective sweep, R2d2 increased from being in 50 percent of the lab mice's chromosomes to 85 percent in 10 generations. By 15 generations, it reached fixation. In female mice, R2d2 somehow displaces the chromosome that does not contain it and it is preferentially incorporated into eggs. It has spread in the wild to several parts of the world.

Still not caught mouse, so put down mouse poison, Cat is going mad can she smell it?

What works better than poison is Boric Acid, in fact the chances are it may be in the poison you chose. just mix 1/4 tsp into a jar lid of corn-meal and set them about the house in areas only the mouse can get to such as under the sink, behind the refrigerator, and behind the stove, in as many areas like that as you can find. The mouse will eat the corn meal and eat the Boric Acid and it will leave your house and go in search of water and die.

How to dispose of a fully decomposed mouse? Can it be vacuumed?

Better not to vacuum it. They can get stuck in the hose and then they are hard to extract and--well, yuck. Do not ask how I know. Broom and dustpan, or gloves. or even a large piece of paper towel folded over the mouse. Or fold it up in the blanket, take the blanket outside and shake the mouse off. Then wash the blanket in a washing machine. The hantavirus is what you are thinking of.
