I personally do not see any difference with gaming keyboards and regular keyboards (other than one is shiny and lights up). They have the same buttons that do the same function. And those extreme gaming keyboards that barely resemble a keyboard looks as if it would be a pain to type on. I would say a regular keyboard would be best for gaming when you factor in the price. However gaming mice have a difference over regular mice. Most mice have 3 buttons, gaming mice have 5-7 buttons, sometimes more. More buttons on the mouse means less moving on the keyboard, and very well could affect your gaming. there are many internet mice that have 5 buttons that would work very well for gaming. I found for $5. Programmed the mouse to be in charge of melee hits and grenade switching on Halo which was really helpful because I could keep my hand in one place. Some of the gaming mice have really funky shapes and look (and sometimes feel) really heavy, so I would recommend a mouse with 5 buttons. Should not be too much, and definitely cheaper than gaming mice.

The mouse will be trap in there. make sure you hold it with both hands when you pick up the contraption. It's recommended that you put a small amount of peanut butter and a piece of cereal as bait, because cheese or any other food that stays out will become smelly or hard which may make the mouse not wanting to go for it
