I have a macbook air. I bought a cheap ($20) mouse. I think the brand was iHome. It did not work very well at all, but worked just fine on Windows laptop. I bought the Apple mouse (about $60). It worked just fine with OS-X. I have changed my macbook to Linux. The mouse still works perfectly. Anyway, low quality mice do not work on macbooks.
