Japanese keyboard where each button is a Kana

I'm only going off of personal experience, But I'd say 8090% of the Japanese people use (roman letter input). And most of those who use (kana input) are older, 35 and up.Definitely, is much more efficient. You can type over twice the speed of . But it takes a lot to learn, and not all keyboards nowadays have the keys printed on them. Plus, with so much English in the Japanese language, you're still going to have to learn the English keyboard, so it's twice the work. But it is a must in workplaces that do a lot of typing. I know a few people who work for publications and they are incredibly good at

Color Computer 2 fantasy game with maze and a selection of magic and weapons

You appear to be thinking of the game Middle Kingdom. Here is a screenshot showing the character's equipment, spells, and magic items. The best site for researching CoCo games appear to be this one.

Middle Kingdom is a graphical adventure game, with some arcade like elements to it. It runs in real time, although you can select three different speeds at which messages during fight sequences happen. You walk around, exploring the large map, while collecting gems, weapons and spells, and you battle various monsters. You can even change weapons in the middle of a fight with the same creature. The ultimate goal is to collect all of the magic rings

Windows 8 Keyboards stopped working

There is a very good chance Filter Keys was accidentally enabled. This is the case if holding down a key for a long time will allow it to register normally. For example, while on the desktop, hold down the Windows key for about 3 seconds, then release it (this should bring up the start menu normally).

To disable it, go to Control Panel -> Ease of Access, and under "Ease of Access Center" click the link that says "Change how your keyboard works". Under the "Make it easier to type" section, there is a checkbox for "Turn on Filter Keys". Disable this and click "Apply". Keyboard should be back to normal now

Ubuntu 12.04 Gnome 3 freezes randomly - not a normal freeze though

To help debug, you can try reading the raw mouse events from /dev/input/mice. This python script, from johnroach.info, can help interpret the raw data. I've modified it slightly below:The next time your computer "freezes", run this script as root. It will print out x and y values for the change in the mouse position as input on your USB port. If these values correspond to what the pointer does on the screen, then it is likely you have a problem with your USB ports, motherboard, or a driver. If these values correspond to what the physical mouse is doing, then the problem is somewhere in the software

What are good ePub viewers you have come across? I'd like to take notes and highlight important text paragraphs duplicate

The ebook reader I have been using for some time is Calibre. I like that I can format fonts and font colours easily. Also, you can save themes. Another important factor for me is that there is a full screen mode where I can change pages using the keyboard keys. You can also enable a clock in fullscreen mode so that you do not lose track of time. Another one that I have been considering is FBreader. It does not have as much functionality as calbre but it is cross platform. This means that you can pick up reading on your phone where you left of on you ubuntu computer

Toggle the keyboard language by *holding* a button?

The Alt key gives you access to a number of non ascii characters that depend on the layout you use.On a standard US keyboard, pressing Altunderbar creates a " " under which the vowel you'll type after will come: " " if I type Altunderbar followed by a.In your case, the US Extended layout will give you access to all the accents that you need to use in Serbian. For ex, Altv followed by c will give you .You need to keep the Keyboard Viewer opened to get used to the various possible modifications but once you get the set that is used in your language you won't need it anymore

How to expand folders without numlock key on my keyboard

Actually, you don't need the Num Lock key at all.Just press * on your numpad. If you don't have a numpad on your keyboard, you can reassign an unused key to function as the Num* (numpad asterisk) using an external program such as SharpKeys as listed here, which works globally across Windows (there's a way to do this through registry editing, which is basically what that program does for you), or you can use AutoHotkey to remap the key only when you're using Windows Explorer. Here's an example for an AutoHotkey script that makes the Insert key behave like Num* when the window focus is on a Windows Explorer window:.

Does an Electron really travel thousands of Miles when I use a server in another Country?

The signal is the movement of charge, which happens much faster than the movement of electrons. The two are compared on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_of_electricity From the Wikipedia article: When a DC voltage is applied the electrons will increase in speed proportional to the strength of the electric field. These speeds are on the order of millimeters per hour. AC voltages cause no net movement; the electrons oscillate back and forth in response to the alternating electric field. The signals used for communication are AC.By analogy, consider the "Newton's cradle" desk toy:The signal moves through the balls faster than the ball itself.

Wake Windows 7 from sleep and modifier keys are reversed

The feature that provides the functionality of what you are experiencing is called StickyKeys. It's not new to Windows 7, and it has been in since at least Windows XP that I know of, possibly earlier. To disable in Windows 7:

Menu Start -> Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Change how your keyboard works (or make the keyboard easier to use) ->All your settings are in here. I personally untick everything when I build a new PC. Make sure nothing is ticked and also go into setup StickyKeys and untick anything in here.I cannot explain why coming out of sleep is causing this, but hopefully this should stop it from happening.

Ubuntu 18.04 - Suspend Issues

My boss and I had similar issues with our Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140. After many releases, Dell eventually discovered an S3 bug relating to pre-5.0 kernels. They advised 2 things:Update the BIOS to the latest version available, most likely post-November 2018.

Upgrade to a 5.

0 kernel.

Additionally, we found 2 more things were required:Completely clean your user config (as in, mv /.config /.config.old) as some previous settings in X11 have hung around in upgrade and are incompatible with S3 "freeze" features.a. If using Gnome, change Settings->Power->"When the power button is pressed" from "Nothing" to "Suspend".

b. If using XFCE, change all "freeze" settings to "suspend" in the Power Manager

Copy & paste suddenly stops working

You seem to have something wrong with the keyboard/mouse. I suggest doing the following:

1. Install drivers for your keyboard OR mouse (the drivers you have may be corrupt)

2. Check if CTRL works (remember CTRL V is paste and CTRL C is copy)

3. If you have any other computers, see if the mouse RIGHT CLICK is working when you connect it to any other computer (RUNNING WINDOWS)

4. If the problem continues see if it stops when running a virtual machine Please, try to use grammar and punctuation in the answer. I will leave a request for an edit See a bigger list of shortcuts here:

Operator pending mode remaps not working

Well, gg is a full command by itself, so operator mode is not involved here at all. It's not like the first g is a command and then the second g is an operator. The g-something family of commands are simply two-character commands.

In order to have ii to map to gg, you actually need:Though you'll probably need to map all the other i-something commands to their non-dvorak counterparts. As recommended by @DBenKnoble in the comments, check out the dvorak.vim which is probably already installed in your vim, it probably does what you want and, if not, you can probably use it as a starting point.

Cannot set keyboard using raspi-config

Here it presents a long list of options in Cyrillic and Greek and non-English languages but nothing that looks appropriate for USA/English, or even anything that looks Western-European. Even under something plausibly simple like "Frans" I see a huge list of choices, again with lots of Cyrillic and Greek that all look wrongI have seen this screen and it is clearly not working properly.Edit /etc/default/keyboard and set:The second one is what's most important; it was probably (gb). Then reboot. This should be permanent and affect both console and GUI mode. See also man 5 keyboard for an explanation of where to find available options, etc

What is strobe? closed

While the strobe is a hardware concept, it is sometimes directly referred to in software. A strobe is generally a voltage line in the computer, sometimes on the CPU or another chip on the motherboard, for example. The voltage of a strobe line will need to go high or low at certain times for certain things to happen. How's that for vague? On an older computer like an Apple , you could directly read the strobe signal of the keyboard controller from a particular memory location. This would tell you whether the user had pressed a key or not and allow you to either handle it or continue on with other processing

How do I enter a new line in a cell in Google Sheets?

The only way that I found so far is through the clipboard.Using a source document with a line break, with some effort you could succeed in selecting just the line break, and then copy/paste it.Even easier is to use an app such as "Unicode Pad" or "Unicode CharMap", both of which will find and then copy/paste any character. You'll need to look for LF, LINE FEED or U000A.

Note that you won't "see" the character after you select it, it shows as a space for obvious reasons.

This still isn't as convenient as I would like it to be, but at least I found it to work reliably.

Hidden commands on Windows

For shutting down my machine I use Start , U , U. It depends on if you have anything that starts with U in your start menu or not, the above is for if you don't.If you do have one, say uTorrent, in your frequently used programs area of the start menu, then you type: Start , U , U , Enter , UThe last U can be changed to either R or S.

Otherwise, I love altshiftesc, StartD, StartR and the like.I'm truly amazed by how many people CANNOT REMEMBER alttab no matter how many times a year you tell them. The problem seems to be in holding alt down to tab through the apps.
