Genetically Modified Mouse 1

A genetically modified mouse or genetically engineered mouse model (GEMM) is a mouse (Mus musculus) that has had its genome altered through the use of genetic engineering techniques. Genetically modified mice are commonly used for research or as animal models of human diseases, and are also used for research on genes. Together with patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), GEMMs are the most common in vivo models in cancer research. Both approaches are considered complementary and may be used to recapitulate different aspects of disease. GEMMs are also of great interest for drug development, as they facilitate target validation and the study of response, resistance, toxicity and pharmacodynamics.

what makes a mouse with the laser thing on the bottom???

The laser tracks the movement cross a surface. It transmits the data into the computer in the mouse and converts into data that the mouse driver software understands. Then that data travels to the wireless transmitter in the mouse. Either it be IR or bluetooth, it transmits a radio frequency signal that is recieved by the IR reciever or blluetooth module. this data goes through to the mouse driver software built into the OS. this controls the pointer on the screen. It may stagger or lag because of a low battery, or a rough surface. Text in a book may cause this, but is not likely. You may have to clean the laser with a cloth or tissue. Also, if you are using the mouse on a book cover that is glossy, that may cause it. Try using it on a non reflective surface such as a desk. Never use it on glass or a reflective surface for best operation! I hope this helps :-)

Mouse won't connect to the laptop?

The most simple thing to try first would be to leave the mouse plugged in, and then shut the system down normally. Wait about three minutes, and then boot the computer up again. See if you get a message that "New Hardware Has Been Detected". The proper driver will be installed automatically, and you should be good to go. If that does not work, check in Device Manager to see if the mouse is recognized there. If there's a yellow "balloon" by the device with a "red exclamation mark" inside it, right click on the device and follow any directions on the screen. There may be a driver update for your system

how to fix my mouse, it doesn't roll along well?

Firstly unplug your mouse from the PC and get to hand a soft tissue and suitable cleaning fluid (window cleaner is fine). Notice the removable cover on the bottom of the mouse. Turn the mouse cover anti-clockwise to release the ball, remove the cover and take the ball out. Use the soft tissue to clean the mouse ball, be sure to remove all dust/hair/debris. Next, notice the 3 rollers within the mouse casing, these are what we need to clean. You can improvise on how to clean the rollers, using your fingernail gets good results, if the mouse has not been cleaned before then you will see lots of dust on the rollers, whichever way you choose to clean them make sure you remove all traces of dust/debris as the smallest piece can cause the mouse to behave erratically. When you have removed all traces of dust/dirt from the rollers and the ball is nice and clean, simply put the ball back in and replace the cover turning clockwise to lock it in place. Plug the mouse back into your machine and turn the machine on, now your mouse should be as good as new.
