I'm stuck with a pet mouse....?

well sooner or later you mom will find out about the mouse. That's just how mom's are. Mice are good at eating anything - vegetables, fruit, crackers, poptarts, anything. Try to stick to things healthy to people, as it will be healthy to mice too. As far as bedding goes - you are going to want to get some pet store bedding. There's really no other good way to do it. Sawdust and wood shavings are good - but you need something absorbent and disposable for obvious reasons. Tissues and paper towel are good for them making nests, but to wander around on and do their business i would look for something that does not have chemicals, and can be spread out easily. (newspaper would probably not be good, they use a lot of inks in there)

How do you catch a live mouse?

Very easy get a five gallong plastic bucket and make sure it's clean .then take a wooden plank and put it from the groung to the top fo the bucket so the mouse can use it like a ramp.then put a big piece of cheese in the bottom of the pail the mouse will jump down to get the cheese and will not be able to get back out because the sides of the bucket are smooth and the mouse can not get a grip. .once you have the mouse in the bucket you can just go dump it outside far away from your house.maybe at your in-laws.that's allways a good place.lol

Long-tailed hopping mouse

The long-tailed hopping mouse (Notomys longicaudatus) is an extinct species of rodent in the family Muridae. It was found only in Australia. It is known from a handful of specimens, the last of which was collected in 1901 or possibly 1902. It is presumed to have become extinct within a few decades from then - possibly several decades in view of a skull fragment found in an owl pellet in 1977. The cause of extinction is unknown, but may be a variety of factors including predation and habitat alteration. Little is known of its biology other than that it dug burrows in stiff clay soils. It was less a pest to humans than other hopping mice, although it would eat raisins. The mouse was mainly gray in colour with small pink ears and big eyes with a long hairy pink tail about two inches longer than its own body. It was first described by John Gould on the basis of specimens sent to him from Australia.
