If it does not glow, it is not working. You can try another usb port to make sure it is not the usb port that is broken. Other than opening the mouse and finding the loose connection, it will need to be a new mouse.

1st suspect is the mouse. try it on another computer or try a different one on urs. It seems like too isolated a problem to be a virus. could be a driver issue.

It just depends on which games you are playing.For example someone playing a MOBA or MMO would probably need a mouse with more macro buttons on the side.E.g. The Razer DeathadderPersonally I think that you can never have too many buttons but it's a subjective choice depending on multiple factors.Also, some gamers I know prefer to use wireless mice (and keyboards) so they have full freedom of movement.Finally, if you are going to be using the mouse for long periods of time I would also suggest finding one which fits your hand size and does not cause and cramp on your wrist or fingers. Mouse balls get dirty and should be cleaned often. Use clean tap water. If really dirty, you can use a mild soap. I know people who used to clean the ball in their mouth rather than get up and run it under water, but I do not recommend that method. You also should clean inside the mouse where the ball rolls around. Dust and grime collect there too. However, a mouse is very cheap to buy, so why not just get a new one. I recommend a mouse without the rolling ball. It uses a light sensor instead. And they may cost a couple bucks more but are worth it. I also like USB connectors, but the oldeer PS/2 works okay and should be really cheap.

I also have a Logitech wireless mouse, and besides being a great mouse, it does kick out sometimes. I find moving the receiver closer to the mouse and pressing the reset button works most times. You might also have other devices interfering with the signal. Also try plugging the receiver into another usb slot. I am not totally sure about the mouse not showing up on screen. You should try rebooting. Also try a corded mouse just to make sure its the mouse and not the computer.

The height at which the sunlight makes a point on the paper is the focal distance. My nice modern Microsoft Curve wireless mouse fails to work at more than 2-3 millimeters above the mousepad. My Logitech G500 works a good centimeter above the mousepad, and I remember when optical mice first came out how I could hold the mouse a good 5 cm above the desk and still have it detect the motion.I recommend trying to get the oldest optical mouse that you can, the sort with the bright red laser. By my own testing, these seem to work furthest from the targeting surface.
