My Mouse Is Dragging When I Click Once! HELP?!?
It seems to me it just start to fails, especially the laser pointer. If you using the mouse with a heavy ball underneath it (which is traditional old computer mouse) just open the cover then clean the track wheel with a wet cotton but. And, change the mouse if you feel the mouse pointer is dragging when you want to click an item on desktop.

How old was the mouse? They do not have a very long lifespan--in captivity, usually two years at the max. If the mouse was a new purchase- it may have ben sick from the start. OR-- Animals have to learn how to d rink from tubes-- whenever you get a new pet rodent, it is always best to provide two sources of water-- a bottle AND a small dish. That ensures the niaml has a source it knows how to get water from.

I do not know of a way you can disable the mouse.but you can hide it by using a custom mouse cursor (think of an all white cursor on and all white page.maybe even transparency if you can). You will need to write highly customized code to do anything with forms (think of using graphics and trapping events with javascript or something).

I donu2019t think modern optical mice actually use lasers. They use an LED to light the surface on which the mouse is used. It is the optical light sensor that has to survey the illuminated area and u2018watchu2019 the direction that the surface is u2018movingu2019. Although the single point of light from a laser can be used to detect changes in the surface reflection, it cannot sense the direction of movement.Also, a laser could be potentially dangerous if someone stared at the beam. Mice would probably have to be labelled as laser products for legal reasons if they actually used lasers in the same way that CD drives should carry labels on the actual mechanism. As the other answers have said, roller ball mice are less accurate and prone to contamination problems affecting the ball and the sensing rollers that pick up dirt causing erratic operation. Roller ball mice typically have internal optical sensors driven by the sensing rollers. The optical sensors provide the horizontal and vertical data for the motion of the mouse. Why do modern laser computer mouses require a mouse pad to work? Why not just use the ball sensor mouses that can work on most surfaces?
