What's Wrong with Me Mouse and How Do I Fix It?

Thats something I do not miss doing (weekly mouse maintenence lol) but since I switched all my PC's to a laser/optical mouse I have not needed to do that in years, I highly recommend replacing the mouse and forget about ever needing to clean the mouse again :)

Did you install batteries in the mouse? The USB thing is merely a receiver. If you are using rechargeable batteries, they may be defective. Try regular batteries

Mouse and keyboard take long time to activate when disks are connected

Because they are all sharing the same USB bus, the 7 external have to be spun-up and checked first, in case one of them holds system data. So the USB device polling probably stops until all 7 of those drives are checked. Ensure the devices (specifically the mouse/Kb vs. the drives) are a on separate USB "hubs" (not a physical hub, but the internal "hubs" listed in the Device Manager), or perhaps add an additional/separate USB controller (example) and connect either the drives or the mouse/KB to it

My cat just ate a poisoned mouse .. Will it be ok?

Take it to the vet ASAP, the poison is still in the mouse, so obviously if the cat eats it, the cat is consuming the poison. I would do it asap if you do not want your cat to suffer and die. It wo not happen instantly

It is not unusual for the mouse to wear out. You can buy another laser mouse for like $8.00

Wireless Logitech Laser Mouse problems?

Make sure you have no other electronic devices near by, I had the same problem and it was my phone in the cradle. The cradle was right next to where my mouse was. The strange activity would happen only when my phone was in the charger. Make sure the batteries in the mouse are fully charged or replaced, low batteries can freak a wireless mouse out.

The dongle.plugs into the usb port.you will find a small button to press on the side.hold it in till it starts to flash.while flashing.press the small button under the mouse once.you should have communication if all was done well.if not.try again. Cheers

Unscrew the bottom to release the ball. scrape off the dirt on the rollers inside the mouse (there should be two big rollers and a small one on a spring)

Gaming Mouse question? Which to buy?

Proper gaming mice are not wireless because there's always a higher chance of interference and the fact that you might run out of battery when it's not convenient. The feel and weight of the mouse is what matters most and cyborg mice are just silly looking and I do not see them being comfortable to use with all possible grips. If possible I suggest trying out wired gaming mice at some local store and seeing which feel the best, and trying some different settings with the ones that feel most comfortable to use. Then buying it where you can get it cheapest

Even if it is only one mouse for now, another is sure to find its way in as well and you'll have a mass breeding problem on your hands.During one winter, mice set up home in the insulation of our stove and, while we were able to keep the infestation confined to the back of the stove, the only way to get rid of them was to remove the stove and tip it. Mice don't have bladders. They are dripping urine wherever they go and this will further encourage other mice to think your kitchen is a safe place to occupy.Instead of traditional traps which only get one mouse at a time, invest in a cage trap which enables the mouse to get it but not out again. I found that one of the best baits was a version of potato or corn chips with a very strong scent and flavor.
