Do as the Black Warrior suggested. You could also dump them into a pan of soapy water to clean them. As they dry use a q-tip and alcohol to clean the rest of the keyboard. Do not get carried away with the alcohol and by all means do not have anything turned ON.

get a can of color tv tuner cleaner. unplug the keyboard and spay it. if you can get a air hose or canned air. turn it upside down and air it out if not. use a shop vac and reverse the hose

yes you can take it apart and clean it. But be carefil and not damage the rubber mat just below the keys. Under the mat is about 2 gaskets. Lift them out and keep them together. Then once you have it apart you can wash the top and bottom covers. But be very sure they are thourouly dry. Then with a cloth wipe the rubber mat.but be gentle with it.then wipe the gaskets with a cloth. Then re insert them first then the rubber mat then the top and bottom. then put the screws back in. then plug the keyboard back in. then youre done. Be sure to use a sheet of plastic over your keyboard.so you will not spill anything on it

At least on Debian-based systems such as Ubuntu there is a utility called xtrlock (1) available through the package repositories. This utility locks the keyboard and mouse until the password is entered while leaving windows visible. I find it useful for computers running information displays and the like.

How can you clean off a white keyboard without hurting the computer?

First, DISCONNECT THE KEYBOARD. No power to the system, remove the battery. Get a suction tool and clean the dust out from under the keys with a vacuum cleaner. Now moisten a cloth with your cleaning fluid, but not to the point where it's easy to squeeze drops from it. I would try rubbing alcohol, or fourmula 409. Wipe the frame around the keys. Consider using a Qtip swab on the skinny bars between the rows of keys if there are any. Let the whole thing air dry for an hour or two before using it again, just to make sure that any moisture has evaporated.
