Kinesis (keyboard)

The Kinesis line of ergonomic computer keyboards is an alternative to the traditional keyboard design. Most widely known among these are the contoured Advantage line, which feature recessed keys in two bucket-like hollows which allow the fingers to reach keys with less effort as well as a central array of modifiers such as enter, alt, backspace, control, etc. where they can be pressed with the thumbs. All Kinesis keyboards (except the Essential) support the capability to re-map individual keys. Recent models also come with the ability to switch between the Dvorak layout with the press of a special key combination, though keycaps printed with dual-legend QWERTY/Dvorak letters are included only on specific models. Moreover, the keys are laid out in perfect vertical rows to avoid the need for lateral movements during typing. The top row of keys, including the escape key and function keys, are small soft-touch keys with membrane dome switches. The remaining keys are standard size and each has its own Cherry MX brown key switch, providing a tactile feel, but no click. A piezo buzzer provides optional key click.

Could someone tell me a safe way to clean my keyboard?

Never spray the keyboard with anything. Spray some detergent mixture on a rag so it is light wet but not enough for liquid to ooze out of it. Then wipe down the surface. Use a vacuum to clean around the keys

problem with my keyboard.. it's giving me wrong characters..?

There is a _chance_ that you can clean up your keyboard but it would require an extensive cleaning. That would involve removing all of the keys (and remembering where each one goes so that you can put it back in the right place!). You would need to remove the keys carefully to avoid breaking them and then clean carefully with the appropriate brushes and cloths before re-assembling the keyboard. But even then the damage might be irreversible. I once spent a couple of hours doing a careful cleaning because a couple of my keys were not working due to an accumulation of cat hair all over the keyboard but even a careful cleaning did not fix the bad keys. A spill of a liquid on the keyboard is even worse so I do not think there's much chance that a cleaning will save the day. The good news is that keyboards are cheap. When I replaced my keyboard, I found several different models of replacement keyboards for less than $20 (Canadian). I found one I liked for only $12. If money is a problem, you can probably find a used keyboard simply by taking one from your old computer or getting one of your friends to give you the keyboard from their old computer. I am assuming that you are using a standard keyboard of course, which 99% of people do. If you have a very exotic keyboard, it may be harder - and more expensive - to replace. I usually try to fix things rather than replacing them but this is one component where I think you will have much better results by simply buying a new keyboard.

Thai Kedmanee keyboard layout

The Thai Kedmanee keyboard layout is the standard keyboard layout for typing the Thai language. It originated from the Thai typewriters introduced in the 1920s to replace older seven-row designs, and was simply known as the traditional layout until the 1970s, when it was named after its putative designer Suwanprasert Ketmanee (Thai: ) in order to distinguish it from the new alternative Pattachote layout. The Kedmanee layout was codified as Thai Industrial Standard 820-2531 in 1988, with an update (820-2538) in 1995, and is used as the default Thai input method on most computer systems. .

Connecting Yamaha KX8 Keyboard to computer?

According to the spec page for the P-80, it has speakers and an amp built in. Is this not the keyboard you are using? In any event, yes, you need special software within Windows for Windows to recognize this keyboard via USB and actually play sound from it. This would be called "MIDI Sequencer" software, and there are a variety of packages available for all budgets -- from free or open source all the way through very expensive professional-grade packages. Generally, MIDI sequencing software is designed such that you can record and playback your performance, and often "multi-track" record. This would allow you to, say, record the piano track, then lay down a bass track over that, then a guitar track, all from your keyboard. You would then be able to remix the song as needed.
