I like my computer keyboard but the letters have nearly worn off
My keyboard is going the way of yours, but not yet so much.Perhaps you could try engraving the lettering somehow, to prevent it wearing off immediately. Then run some paint into the engraving.I do not have the tools to do that, so I might try to scratch the letter into the key top, and run paint into that. Another thing I might to, is to drill one or more small holes near the corners of the worn key tops - one for the A, two for the S, and so on, and run paint into the holes with a toothpick or similar. I am sure I would soon learn that the one-hole key is the A. It's more information than a blank key top.

How Do I Clean My Computer Keyboard?
On my standard desktop keyboards I've popped off the keys and cleaned them up. It's a slow and tedious job but it works. First turn off the computer, you do not need to have it on. I usually start by turning the keyboard upside down and tapping it (this hopefully will get any large debris out. Then use the vaccuum/brush to dust off light items. If you've got more stuff in the keyboards you will need to do a little more work. You can carefully lift the keys out (do not jam any sharp object underneath the key). Just try to lift the key from the corner. I usually do a few keys at a time - do not do the whole keyboard at once unless you like puzzles or know all the placements before hand. clean off sticky or caked on stuff from the keys using a damp cloth - I spray windex on paper towels. Make sure keys are dry before replacing them on the board. Everything should be fine when all is done My mother often eats/drinks while on the computer and her keys get sticky and gross ... there's times when things have gotten under the keys and we could not dislodge whatever it was, keys would get stuck or not be able to push down. I was told that it's not really a risky task by our companies computer programmer over 20 years ago. And fortunately with desktop keyboards they are relatively cheap and easy to replace if you should damage them (they sell replacements because accidents happen like spilling a drink on them). Over the years I've cleaned quite a few keyboards without a problem. Just use common sense and be careful, you will do fine. Hope this helps.

What's the best way to clean a computer keyboard?
Pop the keys out one by one and use compressed air to clean them, just stay away from the bigger keys (backspace, enter, shift) they are a pain to get back on at times, especially if you do not know what you are doing,

Should I spend more money on the computer or the keyboard and mouse?
Get the better computer. It's silly to downgrade your computer for a mouse and keyboard

Why is my computer keyboard not working?
If pressing numlock and capslock do not change LEDs while the BIOS POST screen is shown, then the keyboard is dead. I would try a different keyboard. If it does not work too, you should try an USB keyboard. If your keyboard is from an older PC, they have compatibility problems on newer motherboards, especially the magnificent IBM model M keyboards.

What is the cheapest mechanical computer keyboard that I can get?
For starters, the Cherry GP80 is a great keyboard. Itu2019s also very loud. At u00a380 (last time I checked) itu2019s also one of the cheapest you will find.Probably all or most of the mechanical keyboards you will find use the same keyswitches and are just as loud. Some of them come with pretty LED lighting that is pointless for programmers (and everyone else in my opinion.) That increases the price and doesnu2019t make them more useful. You can find keyboards made with other keyswitches. Cherry make a keyswitch that has the same tactile feel but no click, for example. You can get keyboards made with those. A brand name to search for might be u201cFilcou201d. You can also take a look at WASDKeyboards for good information and as much customization as you want.
