Unplug the keyboard, put it in the top rack of the dishwasher and run the wash cycle. Make sure you use warm water and a low heat cycle to dry it. After the wash take it out,let it air-dry and connect it back to the pc.

ASCII and keyboard transliterations

Several systems have been developed that map the IPA symbols to ASCII characters. Notable systems include SAMPA and X-SAMPA. The usage of mapping systems in on-line text has to some extent been adopted in the context input methods, allowing convenient keying of IPA characters that would be otherwise unavailable on standard keyboard layouts.

Keyboard Piano Problems?

It would be most helpful to have the model of your keyboard and your pedal. Along with polarity, some keyboards do not register the pedal if it is plugged in after power-up. Some register the polarity of the pedal when they power up and some pedals are continuous controllers while the keyboard can only register "on" (127) and "off" (0) values. Off the top of my head I do not know of any 61 key Yamaha keyboards that have an 'expression' pedal input (analogous to an organ swell shoe), Examples: The Yamaha FC7 is an expression pedal, the Yamaha FC4 is an on/off damper pedal, the FC3 is a damper pedal with half-pedal recognition.

How do I switch to only using a keyboard for input?

On most OS's, CTRL C is the keyboard shortcut for copying. CTRL SHIFT one of the arrow keys will select from the cursor word by word in the direction of the arrow key. Just shift will select character by character. CTRL V pastes whatever is in the keyboard. CTRL SHIFT Up or Down selects a paragraph up or down.Selecting would be pretty difficult using just the keyboard. I would select everything, paste into a text editor, and then delete everything you do not want.Hope this helps!

Keyboard Training Center

The Keyboard Training Center is run by Polly and includes the locked Trophy Room, the Technique-O-Tron and the Test-O-Matic. The Technique-O-Tron provides two humorous movies, made in a style to suggest they were made in the mid-20th century despite featuring modern computer keyboards, that teach the user about the "home row" keys and correct typing posture. The Test-O-Matic features lessons and timed typing tests. It is through taking the timed typing tests that the user attempts to reach the words per minute that activate the power cards. The voice of the Technique-O-Tron voiceover was done by Michael Gough

i just messed up my keyboard help?

The water has got into the circuit board. Until it dries out completely you must not even try to use it, in fact you should unplug it. Once it has dried you can try it again, but it will sometimes totally destroy the keyboard

APL2 keyboard function to symbol mapping

Note the APL On/Off Key - topmost-rightmost key, just below. Also note the keyboard had some 55 unique (68 listed per tables above, including comparative symbols but several symbols appear in both monadic and dyadic tables) APL symbol keys (55 APL functions (operators) are listed in IBM's 5110 APL Reference Manual), thus with the use of alt, shift and ctrl keys - it would theoretically have allowed a maximum of some 59 (keys) *4 (with 2-key pressing) *3 (with tri-key pressing, e.g., ctrl-alt-del) or some 472 different maximum key combinations, approaching the 512 EBCDIC character max (256 chars times 2 codes for each keys-combination). Again, in theory the keyboard pictured below would have allowed for about 472 different APL symbols/functions to be keyboard-input, actively used. In practice, early versions were only using something roughly equivalent to 55 APL special symbols (excluding letters, numbers, punctuation, etc. keys). Thus, early APL was then only using about 11% (55/472) of a symbolic language's at-that-time utilization potential, based on keyboard # keys limits, again excluding numbers, letters, punctuation, etc. In another sense keyboard symbols utilization was closer to 100%, highly efficient, since EBCDIC only allowed 256 distinct chars, and ASCII only 128
