I need some Keyboard help.?

First thing I would do is make an attempt to get an exchange/refund without the receipt. A lot of times employees at the store may have knowledge of this issue, or you might get pleasantly surprised with a refund or exchange without the receipt. There could be number of issues so without getting technical take these steps... 1. Be sure you have plugged in the pedal before you turn on the power. Disconnect the pedal from your keyboard. Power the keyboard off. Make sure the pedal is NOT depressed and plug it back into the keyboard. Power the keyboard on and see if the pedal is working properly. If it is still not working properly.... 2, Power your keyboard off, disconnect the pedal and see if you can find a polarity switch on the pedal (maybe on the bottom or next to the foot control). Remember the current polarity setting (so that you can set it back to its' original setting if needed). Simply flip the polarity switch, connect the pedal to your keyboard power up your keyboard and see if that worked. If it is still not working properly.... 3. If you are mechanically inclined, power your keyboard off, disconnect the pedal and reset the polarity switch to its' original setting. Open the pedal and look for two wires running from the board to the switch. You want to reverse the wiring connection of those two wires on the board. Hopefully, once you get the pedal open and look inside It will be clear what you need to do. If it is still not working properly.... 4. Reconnect the wiring to its' original position, take a deep breath and resign yourself to the fact that you are out 70 bucks...

Is it i need to code for onscreen keyboard?

The on-screen keyboard should be part of the operating system. All you need to do is create a form with input fields. tapping onto the fields should open up the keyboard for typing. Have fun.

How much would it cost to make my keyboard backlit?

Sometimes it depends on the model computer. Some keyboards can be replaced for as little as $40, some go up to $100 or better. Unfortunately, since you have a Dell, you may be stuck with a bigger expense, as some Dell computers require a different motherboard for backlight capabilities for the keyboard. You can try calling tech support with this one and see if yours is one that is easily interchangeable

Haha. How are you supposed to clean the keyboard on your laptop?

well, i do not know yours but my is easy. the keyboard can easily be removed and then with a dust cleaner spray over it

Have to slam down on certain keys on my keyboard for them to work?

Had that problem also, sounds like your keyboard on your laptop is getting worn out, try cleaning it with compressed air. Here is a question for you though if that doesnt help, what have you spilled on it? if there is soda or juice that have dripped onto your keyboard? If you say yes, you can easily take the keyboard off, I have a dell also, mine I have a little notch below the screen and top of the keyboard, take a screw driver and it will pop off really easy then there are 2 screws and a ribbon cable that you disconnect by sliding the cream colored tab. Take out your keyboard and rinse it off for a little while with warm water. let dry upside down over night making sure all the water is out of it by shacking it. then put it all back together. Really easy to do and wo not hurt your computer so long as you dont get the water inside. I did that to mine and now it feels like the day I bought it. But you may need a new keyboard, you can get one cheap off ebay usually. Just dont worry about water on your keyboard they are run through water at the factory when there made.
