How to make ^ and non-dead-keys on Windows 7 with German keyboard layout
I could not get the method based on the keyboard creator to work. Instead, I came up with an AutoHotKey script. The method for detecting the current keyboard layout is taken from How to find out what is the current keyboard layout?. The idea is to automate sending the sequence "dead key space". Since this will have the wrong effect for layouts without dead keys, I filter based on the locale ID, which for the German keyboard fulfills the pattern 0x0407????. This value may not be portable, given that keyboard layouts are not hardcoded. I considered using GetKeyboardLayoutNameA, but the value sometimes is outdated

How to get exactly the same keyboard layout in Windows as in macOS?
Sounds like what you want is to be able swap a couple keys in Windows 10. SharpKeys should be able to do this.Specifically, you will want to swap around whatever the curly braces are, and swap alt with ctrl: alt is in the same position as the command key on a Mac keyboard, and swapping it with ctrl makes ctrl-V/C/X the same motion as command-V/C/X

How can I use quotes and cedilla without having to press the right alt key in the international American keyboard layout?
You are better off with the English (intl, with AltGr dead keys) layout. How you install/select it will vary with your distro and desktop environment. For example, I explained how to do so with Lubuntu with this answer. Using this layout means you do not have to press the quote button twice, but you still have access to the characters you are (probably) looking for.In this case, the 'AltGr' means your right Alt key. Pressing and holding the right Alt key outputs this:There's also the SHIFT key modifier. Pressing both the right Alt and SHIFT keys together outputs this:And, more importantly, just pressing the ' once will output the ' as the expected behavior. This English keyboard layout is suitable for most characters that one will need in day-to-day operations.Because it will depend on your desktop environment and distro, I can only show you how it looks on my system. This is where I went to configure this:.

My keyboard has messed up after i got the computer rebooted the keyboard layout has changed and its on UK Sett?
Go to your system tray and click on the time in the system tray. There should be a tab on the time window or a drop down button that allows you to set your time zone. Make sure that the time zone on your computer is set to your country or zone. This should then switch you from the UK setting to a setting for your country (US, I presume). You did not say which operating system you have, but I presume you have XP
